Axel

I felt as if someone had their hand around my heart, squeezing it, waiting to pull it out any second. That's the only way to describe how I felt in that moment. Helpless... vulnerable. Maybe even angry at myself.  For her. And I hated it.

Where could she be?

Its not like someone can just kidnap a pure blood like her. It had to be someone strong. Someone powerful.

But that didn't make sense. Why would they kidnap her and hide her in her own land.

Something about this just wasn't sitting right.

"Axel" i heard a soft feminine voice behind me.

I turned around to see a blonde girl, Kaia I believe.

"Yes?"

"Your brother's here" she smiled and began walking, gesturing me to follow behind.

I looked at my watch. It was a little past midnight. I hadn't realised how late it was, despite how I felt like every second was dragging.

I felt a slight relief wash over me, realising Donovan was here. Not like he could do much out here either. It was just a little more comforting having my brother around.

I walked through the long corridor, keeping my head down, trying not to let it wander off, but no. Every thought led back to her. And it was driving me completely Insane.

I walked into the large hall. Ezra was sitting facing me in a large sofa, opposite him a familiar dark haired figure.

"Donovan" i couldn't help the smile from cracking on my lips.

He turned his head slightly to the side. His eyes lit up when he saw me, a smile appeared on his lips too as he stood up and opened his arms to greet me.

"Hello Brother" he wrapped his arms around my shoulder in a warm hug.

He pulled away to look me in the eyes as he held my shoulders upright.

"You look miserable" he gave me a smirk.

I ran my hand down my face and let out a breath.

"You don't know the half of it" I tried to give him another genuine smile. But I failed.

The spark in his eyes faded as the smirk vanished from his lips. He turned around to look at Ezra, who had a concerned look on his face too. His eyes shot back to mine, scanning me in realisation.

"What the hell happened ?" he furrowed his brows at me.

I looked at Ezra with a weak look, to tell him to narrate the story. My mind was just not right.

Ezra began telling Donovan the events that led to this. The more he spoke, the more my heart sank. Everytime one of them mentioned her name, I felt this sudden rush of emotions through me.

I had this sudden need to be close to her. Hear her talking to me, yelling at me, taunting me, pushing me over the edge, driving me crazy every time she touched me.

"Our men scanned the entire forest. There's no trace of her" Ezra's voice sounded so distant.

I closed my eyes, thinking back to a little while ago when the men came rushing in to tell us they couldn't fine her.

"Maybe the witch was wrong" I looked up at Ezra.

"But she said there was a cloaking spell" Donovan furrowed his brows at me.

"But why would someone hide her in Kallihan itself? It doesn't make sense"  I shook my head.

"This isn't the first time this has happened, is it?" Nathaniel walked in with a smug look, causing all of us to look in his direction.
