Axel

"Hey" I pushed the door open "you look beautiful.

She turned around from the mirror to look at me. Her dark eyes met mine and i couldn't wait to have her back in my room as soon as the party was over.

"You shouldn't be here" she whispered as she walked around the bed towards me in a hurry.

"I shouldn't?" I smirked at her.

"Donovan..."

"Madelyn" i cupped her face in my hands "You think Donovan doesn't know about us?" I smiled at her. " everyone knows you're mine" couldn't resist crashing my lips to hers.

"That's why he's been giving me duty with you recently?" she moved back and her eyes widened in realisation.

"Even if he didn't know I wouldn't care" I brought her hands up to my lips to kiss them.

"How long will the party take?" She pouted". I was more than happy to know she was just as anxious to have me to herself as I was .

"It doesn't matter" I moved a few strands of hair from her face " If I can resist long enough I'll probably end up pulling you into my room before dinner itself" she simply gave me a knowing smile and I saw a hunger in her eyes that my body understood.

Before I could say anything else she grabbed me by the neck and crashed her lips against mine. My resistance was at its tipping point, but it was no use trying to resist her.

I wrapped my arms around her waist tighter, enjoying every moment of her lips against mine, taking in a taste I never knew was for the last time.

"Everything"  her voice was barely above a whisper. It seemed so distant because my mind was swirling with other thoughts.

I ran my hand through my hair and looked down at the flames burning bright behind her.

"Axel" her voice made me look at her. She sat on the floor , snuggled up in her blanket. I knew there was no use dragging this out. She wasn't going to stop until I told her what she wanted to know.

"Do you know why the war started Sage?"

"Pheonix killed one of Donovan's slaves" her tone was confident, but her eyes gave me the most questionable look ever.

"Her name was Madelyn" i stated. I never saw her as a blood slave and I hated if people did too.  My mouth hadn't said that name in years. It was centuries ago. I didn't affect me the way it did back then, probably because I haven't had to speak about it all this while.

She kept her eyes on me with a patient look, not uttering a word.

"She was one of Donovan's blood slaves. She was beautiful" I closed my eyes trying to picture what she looked like once again, but it was so long ago I could barely remember the sound of her voice.

"That night at the Ball, Pheonix saw her. I kept her beside me throughout the party. I kept an eye on her when I had to move away. I knew Pheonix had something twisted in his mind so I never let her out of my sight" I knew there was a frustration in my voice. It was causing flashbacks to the day.

I looked over at Sage and she sat as she was a while back with that same questionable look on her face.

"After the party was over I went to check up on her but she was missing" I felt my fist tightening around the glass I was holding.

"She wasn't there..." she completed the sentence almost as if she understood what had happened. I looked upto Sage, seeing her look at me in pure confusion.
