Sage

"How did you find me?" I breathed out, unable to keep my eyes off his.

"I know you better than you think, Love" his mouth turned up into a sarcastic grin.

I didn't say a word. I just stood there with a vacant stare, trying to wrap my head around the fact that was actually here.

His eyes searched my face, like he was searching for an answer. I knew he wanted one. But I don't think I had what he needed.

"Why did you leave Sage?" he took a step forward, shutting the door behind him, glaring through me with those piercing greys.

"I needed a weekend away"

"Lie" a smug smirk stretched on his lips.

"Why would I lie ?" I gave him a glare.

"Why you do any of the crazy shit you do is still a mystery to me." he gave me a taunting look coming closer, towering over me.

"How did you find me Axel?" I hissed at him, taking few steps away. This house was warded off. It was impossible to find it.

"We have a witch friend in common" he crossed his hands over his chest, giving me a sarcastic smile.

"Arabella" I breathed out "That bitch" I ran my hand through my hair, looking on the side.

"She owed me one" he took another step towards me "For not letting you kill her. Remember?" another taunt. How lovely.

"Well she was the one that cloaked this house for me" I shot back.

"Yes. I figured"

"How?"

He tilted his head, looking at me with that same intensity, making me feel exposed to him. I was. My shorts barely covered my butt and my white tank top barely hid anything.

"Like I said Sage, I know you better than you think" his eyes wandered over my body, licking his lips and i could have sworn I saw hint of something in eyes before he camouflaged it.

I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to hide how see through my top was , giving him a deadly glare.

He let out a sigh and looked over to the side, closing his eyes.

"We did a locator spell. It didn't work. The witch said the magic cloaking you was really old and heavy. There's only one witch I thought of who would do old, heavy magic for you" he gave me a casual look, as if he was a genius putting everything together.

"So Arabella just gave it all away and helped you?" I furrowed my brows.

Why would she help him? She probably wanted something in return.

"I managed to convince her" he gave me a smirk. I looked away. "Besides I did save her from yo.."

"Why are you here?" I raised my voice. It wasn't because i was angry. It was because I could feel his gaze burning through me and I had to contain myself.

"No" he snapped. "I answered you. Now you answer me" his voice was low and stern.

"Why did you leave?" he spoke so slow, almost like he knew I was distracted by him.

How could I not be. His face stood out even in the dim lights. His eyes..so grey..so dark, cutting through me, those insane cheekbones only illuminated by the light and those lips... stretching into that damn smirk driving me wild.

No.

I shook my head. I couldn't let him have that kind of control over me.

"Where is Ezra?" the tension in the room was stifling and it was only increasing.
