Sage

"Sage?" i felt a delicate touch along the side of my face.

"Hmm" I turned over on my back, eyes still closed.

"Too early to sleep Love"

I fluttered my eyes open slightly to be attacked by the blinding sunrays. I cuss and turn my head the other side and he he put his hand up infront of the window making sure the shadow falls on my eyes, blocking out the sunlight.

"Did I doze off?" I managed to finally open my eyes properly to look at him.

He was sitting at the edge of the bed near me. He looked fresh, he probably had a wash or something. But thankfully his hair was still messy. It suited him.

But he preferred looking like Dracula with his hair slicked back.

"Barely half an hour" he gave me a smile.

I sat up against the headboard.

"Where did you go?"

"I called Ezra"

"And?"

"And he's acting like an over possessive girlfriend" he gave me a glare and I let out a small laugh at his expression.

"He's worried" I nudged his shoulder.

"Yes I know" he leaned back on his palms, looking out of the window. "But he doesn't have to act crazy like that. I told him we'll be back soon"

A thought crossed my mind and the smile immediately wiped off my face.

"Axel"

"Hmm"

"Today's the ball" I looked at him with a regretful look.

"Nope. Your brother called it off. He said he'll have it next month or something like that" he pushed himself back onto the bed. I moved in more, giving him place to sit beside me. Leaned back against the headboard beside me, staring ahead.

"So this is what it takes for him to call off that damn Feast?" I looked up at him.

"I think he's more disheartened about the Feast being called off" gave me a dramatic look but then his expression got serious and he gave me a meaningful look.

"He wants us back immediately" he spoke so soft, probably expecting me to get annoyed or something.

"Axel.."

"He said there's something for you"

"What?" I leaned in closer to him, my cheek touching his shoulder.

"He won't say. But he seems worried" he furrowed his brows looking down at me.

"You know Ezra likes being dramatic right?" I tried giving him a smile.

But I knew it must be something. Ezra's used to me running off like this. He wouldn't call me back unless it was important.

He kept his eyes on me with that intense look. My eyes fell on his lips and I had to look away or I would have kissed him right there. So I put my head on his shoulder and nodded.

"Okay" I whispered.

"I did not expect that" he leaned his head to the side to rest on mine.

Why did we have to leave? This felt so comfortable.

"It must be important. Besides if it isn't we can always come back here"

"We?" I could hear the smile in his voice.
