"You know if you keep acting like this I might just end things between us" Cedric exhaled a long breath, truly exhausted by the effort he'd exerted into not screaming at Cho

"Cedric! Don't even joke about that! I know you'd never, you'd be too heartbroken without me" Cho giggled as she smacked Cedric's arm, what she missed though was the obvious underlying truth in her boyfriend's words, sometimes it amazed Cedric that she was a Ravenclaw ...

He snorted at her immensely false statement, he doubted he'd be even the slightest bit heartbroken when he did end things with her

Ever since the Yule Ball things between them had been tense to say the least. After her joyous humiliation of Harry, Cedric found it difficult to even look at her without feeling fuelled with anger

He was slowly trying to build up the courage to tell her he no longer wanted to date her, especially not after what she had done to poor Harry, but part of him knew how shattered she'd be and felt guilty over the fact he'd be bringing her that pain

He kept trying to remind himself that she deserved it, that she was a bully and an awful person who didn't deserve his kindness, but he always pictured her heartbroken face and became greatly deterred from what he truly wanted to do

He knew it should come easy to him, especially after her immaturity at the Yule Ball, and considering that despite the few weeks that had passed since that horrendous night, Cedric still felt guilty and responsible for her actions

He'd of course tried to handle it maturely, but hearing confirmation to Harry's suspected secret spoken aloud caught him off guard, that and the immense humiliation on the fourth year's face were enough to put Cedric at a loss for words

There'd been several times since the Yule Ball where he'd wanted nothing more than to push Cho away from him, preferably into the freezing Black Lake,
but he simply couldn't, he wasn't bold enough to do so

He also noticed that she seemed to have an annoying way of getting whatever she wanted whenever she wanted, and at the moment she only seemed to want to harass Harry by parading Cedric around the school as if he were a trophy

"Come on Cedric...how about we go wait in the Great Hall, I'm sure Harry will be down shortly..." She sneered as she spoke, a disruptive grin forming on her arrogant face

Cedric tensed, he despised her new found fascination of wanting to find Harry and rub in their toxic relationship, it was cruel

He had begun to suspect that she was angry at Harry for not having a crush on her, something which made Cedric feel the slightest bit triumphant

He let out a long sigh contemplating how to reject her this time, "No, I don't think so Cho. How about we go to the library...I'd like to see if I can find anything about the egg there"

Cedric picked the library knowing it would likely be the last place they'd find Harry ... though Cho didn't seem keen on his well thought out idea

"You do know there won't be anything there Cedric, you've already looked over all the books...we might as well get lunch in the Great Hall..."

Cedric stood up forcefully gathering his newly repaired bag and swinging it over his shoulder angrily, "You know what? You can do whatever you want but I'm going to the library"
