Cedric made a run for it when the bell signalled the end of his potions class, he knew that Harry had transfiguration at this time and that if he hurried he might even have a chance of catching the younger boy
As he pushed his way through the crowded halls his mind replayed the library incident, it was a horribly sour event
He knew he should've been honest with Harry though he felt that he'd be saving the younger from the inevitable temper tantrum that would ensure knowing that Cho was involved. Harry hated Cho and Cedric knew that quite clearly
However his efforts were useless as Harry ended up having a tantrum anyway
As he approached the class he easily sighted Harry, walking along with that ginger haired friend of his in a rather carefree way
"Mate she's bloody insane she is...there's no way I'm transfiguring a hedgehog to a pincushion"
Harry chuckled, "yeah we'll have to get Hermione to help us"
They both laughed. Though it likely wasn't as innocent as Cedric interpreted it to be it still made his heart ache. He sadly recalled his own fourth year transfiguration class, though he found it all rather easy
"Harry" Cedric called out
Harry turned to face Cedric and greeted him with a cold scowl before marching on. Harry's rather rude demeanour made Cedric tighten with guilt, "Harry wait...can we talk?"
The ginger shot Harry a look that seemed to say 'good luck' before he walked ahead, leaving Harry alone with Cedric at last
"What?" Harry snapped, whirling around to meet Cedric's grey eyes with bitter emerald ones
"We need to talk" Cedric said gently
Harry frowned and shook his head, as stubborn as ever, "there's nothing to talk about"
"Come on, you and I both know there are a few things we need to clear up..."
"We?" Harry asked in shock, looking as if the suggestion was some sort of highly offensive accusation
"Harry...come on let's just talk"
Harry hesitated, staring at the boy's desperately handsome face before him...it was a face that pulled on his heart strings. Reluctantly, he agreed convincing himself it was because he was interested in how this involved things he needed to clear up...but also because he wanted to forgive Cedric and go back to the way they were before, back before they'd visited the prefect's bathroom
They hadn't spoken to each other for several days now and it was beginning to eat away at Harry's heart, though he remained angry and bitter he couldn't help but realize deep down he was sad. At night he'd lay awake, allowing his longing heart to shatter more and more at the thought of Cedric
Cedric led them out of the school, out to the Black Lake where they'd had their first kiss all those months ago...it seemed a lifetime ago now
"Okay so what are we talking about?" Harry asked nonchalantly, taking a seat on the rock that overlooked the lake
"Why were you spying on me?" Cedric asked calmly, hating Harry's attitude but deciding against engaging with his childish behaviour
