You finally reach the final chapter of this book. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I love writing it. Also, may you find something you love and courage to fight for it fiercely just like what Elias and Frances did in this book.
THANK YOU!

Chapter 30
No more running
News circulating nationwide swiftly tearing us apart. It's been a week of airing the same news about my father convicting an innocent man as a result of being in jail for almost two decades. It's devastating for us, for my family. The major scandal stained our company's reputation as well─ in short, everything's falling apart. No, everything's now gone.
We never had the chance. My bodyguards immediately grabbed me out of the scene. On the same day as well, I received a text from him. He told me that it's Elisse who called the press.
And I didn't reply. I didn't ask further details because to me it didn't matter anymore. She actually saved the country for future damages. My father isn't worthy of that seat.
Besides, Elias already got his goal and that was to free his father. He fought for it. And I was truly glad that I have contributed in achieving his target.
However, at this point, I was contemplating and constantly reminding myself that I wasn't really the main goal since the beginning, and that thought was what kept me from calling him.
I might just rub the salt into the wound.
Tita Cristina was right. That my involvement in this case would just do me no good. It was true indeed that only truth shall set you free.
My eyes fell on the bowl of cereal placed over the countertop. I was lazily mixing it without an intention to eat it. It's five o'clock in the afternoon, and I was still forcing myself to eat something because apparently, I haven't eaten anything today.
"Don't worry about me and... don't talk to me.
The man who was deeply adored and loved by his people is the same man who's currently the most hated official in our history.
The reason why I get it; every hate that I've been receiving now from my parents. My father also fired my bodyguards when he knew that they were also working for Elias. He'd never thought that Elias and Archer could be the same person.
Speaking of being fired, my mother also ditched me from our company. She fired me, swearing that I won't be getting even a centavo of her money.
"Stocks are falling. We're losing major clients as well," Mom's secretary brought the news in the middle of our private meeting the day after the trial held.
"See?! That's what cost us of you trying to be righteous all the goddamn time!"
Daddy exhaled harshly. Dark circles under his eyes and lines on his forehead were becoming prominent. It was if he already aged a decade after the ambush of the press.
