𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲-𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧: 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 𝐈𝐧 𝐀 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐩'𝐬

Betty's POV

I'm still sitting down at the bar with my friends. Veronica and Cheryl came to visit, but other than that, it's just been me, Toni, Sweets, and Fangs.

Jughead still hasn't come down to talk. He can't be that busy. What's taking him so long? Am I'm being clingy? Probably. He probably doesn't want to be with me anymore. Are we even a thing? He just wants to abandon me. Not on my watch, buddy.

"Excuse me," I say very quickly as I walk up the stairs to get in his office. I don't even bother knocking I just open the door and shut it behind me.

"Hey! Baby, I told you I-"

"Am I that clingy? You don't ever want to spend time with me. Am I just some little play thing to you?" I cut him off.

"What?! Betty, what are you even talking about?"

"You said you were going to come down later, and you didn't. You're abandoning me! You don't care about me! I should've known. I should've known you'd just hurt me!" I say getting loud now.

He gets up and starts walking towards me while I'm still talking.

"Everyone I have is only ever gonna hurt me! I'll never be loved! I might as well just kill myself, whatcha think? I'll never get married, I'll never have kids! Shit, Jughead, I probably won't even graduate!"

"Betty, stop being dramatic. You're just drunk. Get someone to take you home," he says turning around to sit back down at his desk.

"No! You don't get to leave me! You don't get to play with me and then just leave!" I yell yanking his shoulder to make him turn around.

"Betty, nobody's abandoning you! You're being a dramatic bitch! You can't go five fucking minutes without someone there to fucking cater to you! I'm fucking tired! This is a hard job that you just threw at me! Go fucking home," he yells going to sit back down.

I feel tears start to prick my eyes. I realize what I've done. He didn't do anything. I- why did I do that? "Wait, I'm sorry," I breathe gently, "I-I didn't mean to-"

"Go home," he says very quietly, looking down. I can tell I've hurt him.

"Wait, no. I hurt you. I'm sorry."

"Is this what our relationship is gonna be? Your random outbursts when I don't come to see you for an hour?"

"I don't know what we are. I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to. It truly felt like you abandoned me."

"I get that. I get that it wasn't your fault. But you have to listen when I tell you I didn't."

"Okay. I," I sob out. "I'm really sorry."

"It's okay, princess. Go downstairs and have fun with your friends, I promise I'll be down there in five minutes."

I nod quietly, leaving without another word spoken. I can tell we're both confused, that's something we'll have to talk about tomorrow.

I gently close the door and make my way down to the bar. I take a seat next to Cheryl who notices my tears. "Are you alright, cousin?"
