Betty's POV

"Oh, your dad..." I say, the hem of my shirt suddenly becoming to most interesting thing in the world.

"Wait! Betty Cooper, as in Alice Cooper's daughter?" Jughead's dad asks, "you just let a fucking Serpent into your house, boy," he yells, getting close to jughead.

Jughead looks absolutely terrified, so I step in. "Yes, now back the hell away from him."

He looks at me shocked, not believing that I would ever talk to him like that. Bitch, I'm not scared of you.

"The fuck did you just say to me?" he asks, now getting up close to me; getting in my face.

"Stop, dad!" Jughead yells, "there's a lot you don't know, okay? And I'll tell you in due time, but please, calm down."

"Calm down?! The hell I will!" He yells in my face.

"Listen here, dad of Jones. I don't care if you hurt me. I'm not scared of you. I've been through a hell of a lot worse than a big, bad ex-gang member. Do your worse."

He looks at me for a second as if he's studying me. Then all  of the sudden, he raises his hand to slap me.

"No! Don't touch her!" Jughead yells.

His dad turns around. "Why do you care! You're a Ghoulie, you hate the Serpents. More specifically, you're the leader of the Ghoulies and she's the Serpent you hate in particular!"

"Dad, like I said, there's a lot you don't know."

"Then tell me!" he yells.

Jughead pauses, shifting around uncomfortably. "Betty and I are dating, I'm also the leader of the Serpents. The Ghoulies, dad, they don't exist anymore! I fell in love with betty, okay? She's an amazing person; so I swear to god, if you lay a single hand on her..."

And jughead's dad looks livid. "You're what?!"

"I— dad..." jughead sobs.

"Man up," he yells, getting away from me and coming closer to him.

"Shut the fuck up, you asshole! The phrase 'man up', is just used as an excuse for men to not show emotion."

"Betty," I hear jellybean call.

"Hey, jelly," I say walking up to her and wrapping my arms around her.

"You're one careless motherfucker. She will be the death of you, boy," he says as he angrily walks out of the door.

Jughead suddenly drops to his knees sobbing. He was so scared and you could tell. I let go of jellybean and run over to him. I get down on my knees and wrap my arms around him. "Hey, hey. Look at me," I tell him.

He looks up at me, he cheeks covered with tears, his eyes hurt and threatening to spill more.

"It's all going to be okay. We'll figured it out. I'm here, he won't hurt you. I love you, okay?"

He just leans back into my chest and continues to sob. I run my fingers through his hair, trying to calm him down. I'm shushing him, trying to convince him that everything will be alright.

After a couple of minutes, he does calm down. I stand up the reach down for his hand, trying to get him to stand up as well. He accepts my hand and stands up with me.

"Hey, listen. Why don't you go get a shower then get into bed. I'll make some food. I've never cooked for you, and believe it or not, I'm actually pretty good at it. I'll get jelly to help me, I'll take care of her. Just relax, okay?"

He nods silently. He walks back into his bedroom and shuts the door behind him.

I turn around and place my hands on the counter. I sigh, trying to calm myself down. I'm not the nurturing type, but sometimes you have to be and it's hard as shit, man.

"Is he okay?" Jelly asks me.

I smile at her. "He will be. There something you don't know about. Your dad really hurt jughead," I say, beginning to get some stuff out to cook.

"Fucker," she whispers.

"Jellybean!" I yell shocked. I then begin to laugh. "You can swear around me, but be careful around jughead," I chuckle.

•••

It's now after dinner. I made food for everyone and jughead went to bed. I put jellybean to bed too and then I decided to head home.

•••

It's now the next day and I'm now heading over to the bar. Toni said she needed to talk to me. She seemed really torn up so I'm very worried.

Toni's not a cryer, but over the phone she was sobbing.

I finally arrive at the bar and basically jump off my bike. I run inside and immediately see sweetpea.

"Sweetpea, where's Toni?" I ask distraught.

"Um, she went to the back room," he says.

I run back there and see Toni sobbing into her knees. I run over to her and hug her.

"Hey, hey. I'm here, what's wrong?"

She looks at me. Her eyes look guilty; ashamed.

She continues sobbing, wiggling out of my grip.

"Me-Me and Cheryl broke up," she sobs.

I sigh. I never thought they would break up. They seemed so in love. I pull her back into my embrace, but she just wiggles out if it.

"She's also mad at you so I told her to stay away from you," she cuts herself off with sobs.

"Shhh, it's okay. I'm sorry, you don't have to defend. We'll work it out," I whisper, rubbing her hair.

She leans into my chest, finally letting me comfort her.

•••

She calms down about 20 minutes later. She's still upset but she's not crying anymore.

"Betty," she looks at me. "I didn't tell the full truth."

"What do you mean?"

She sighs. "I'm sorry," she sobs.

"Toni, what did you do?"

"I- lied. Me and Cheryl did break up, and I did tell her to leave you alone, but there's something else."

"Well? What is it, toni?"

She sighs, really not wanting to tell me this.

"Jughead kissed me."
