Betty's POV

It's been almost three months since me and jughead's breakup. I've tried my best to avoid Toni and jughead, and so far I'm doing a damn good job. I haven't really told anyone about the situation besides Sweets and Fangs. All I told my other friends and family is that me and jug broke up.

I'm currently on my way to work. It's after school and I still have to work even if I'm mentally and physically drained.

When I arrive at Pop's, I walk in and check in with Pop so he knows I'm here. I then go into the bathroom to change into my uniform.

About an hour into my shift, I hear the bell ring, as I have been hearing all day. They sit themselves down at a table and I go to take their order.

"What can I—"

I cut myself off, shocked. Sitting there I see jughead Toni. Together. By themselves. The thought of them being alone together makes my stomach turn.

I clear my throat. "What can I get you?"

Jughead and Toni both shift uncomfortably. "Um, we want our usuals," jughead says quietly.

"Okay," I also respond quietly before walking towards the back and telling Pop what they ordered.

I serve some more tables, take a couple more orders, before Toni and Jughead's food gets done. Once their order's up, I go get it and take it to their table.

"Here you go," I say, setting the food down emotionless.

"Thanks, betty," Toni says.

I quickly try and walk away but my wrist is suddenly grabbed. "Stay?"

I turn around to meet jughead's eyes. "What?"

"Stay."

I snatch my wrist out of his hands, clearing my throat. "I'm working, Jones. Maybe next time," I say as I walk away.

Maybe never, I think to myself.

"Goodnight, Pop," I say, getting ready to go home.

"Night, betty. Be safe," he yells out to me.

I walk outside and hop onto my bike.

I drive home, and when I get there I get a text on my phone.

I roll my eyes, not bothering to see who it is.

I walk inside my trailer, throwing my keys down on the kitchen counter.

I throw my bag down in the laundry room on my way to my bedroom. When I get to my bedroom, open the door, shutting it behind me, then flip down onto my bed.

•••

In the middle of the night, well, at least it felt like the middle of the night, I heard a knock on my door.

I just happened to be home alone cause my foster parents are visiting some family and I couldn't come since I've missed way too many days of school and work.
