Jiddah's POV

  Jiddah's POV

I've reached all the requirements for admission and  completed my registration, classes will start next week in shaa Allah, so I've started packing the things I need, remember I have a Baby so is not going to be easy but Allah knows better.

"I'll make sure you don't come back to this house" I heard her voice from no where, I paused pressing the cloth and looked at her waiting for an explanation on what she just said.

"Yes, you heard me right Jiddah, I'll make sure you don't come back to this house!" She smiled mischievously. "Okay" I simply said and continued what I was doing.

I find it very useless talking to this woman, whats the use of having a conversation with her when I know she's always open for a violence, she just want me to talk back at her so she can have something to say against me before Yusuf, I'm not scared of her but I'd rather try to keep the little respect Yusuf has for me.

"So you think he rented a whole flat for you to make the studies easy for you" she laughed clapping her both hands.

Guess she over heard the conversation I had with The Cook, I was telling her Yusuf got me an apartment near the school, he said it's not possible for me to go to gwagwalada on a daily basis and hostel is not convenient, so I can be visiting home every 2 to 3 weeks.

"He got you that apartment so we can have this house all to ourselves, you've been a nuisance all this while you know" she rolled her eyes. "Are you sure? Cause he asked for my consent before deciding on the accommodation. Moreover, we all know it's not possible for me to be going to school and coming back home everyday, it's going to be very stressful for me and my Baby, so quit saying is in order for you to commit sin" I said with a smile on my face, though low-key I know both of them we'd be glad if I'm away, but is not as is my presence stops them from doing whatever they want.

"Did you just say commit sin?!" She asked with gritted teeth. "Okay sorry, so what should I call it?" I mocked her. "Nonsense" she hissed and left aggressively. Troublemaker!.

    Day of Departure

I got myself and Maryam ready since in the morning, I'm so eager to exit this house, if only Farha knows how happy I am she won't be giving this so much attitude. Since my presence doesn't make any changes then my absence would not affect any one anything.

"Babe" I heard Yusuf calling Farha, "Babe" he called again. "What are you thinking of Babe?" He rolled his eyes handing over the phone to me, I was shocked but had to maintain my facial expression. He was on a video call with his Mom so he has to put up the fake act.

"Assalamu Alaikum" I greated. "Wa'alaiki Salam Dear" she smiled, she looked better than the last time we talked, she has a kidney failure so they are in Dubai doing her treatment.  "Ina yini Umma, Ya qarfin jiki?" I greeted in hausa. "Lafia qlau Hauwa'u, za a makaranta ko?" She asked.

"Eh Umma in shaa Allah" I said. "Okay tohm Allah ya bada sa'a, a kula Dan Allah, aure ba abun Wasa bane" she advised. "Toh Umma in shaa Allahu zan kiyaye" I smiled.

"Okay all the best" she said and I handed over the phone to him. "So Mom you will let her leave your son alone in the house" he whined. I feel like strangling him right now.

"Toh ka bita makarantar mna bita zai zai"(then why not follow her to the school)she laughed, I noticed the sarcasm in her tone though. "I'll spend a week over there so I can help her with registration" he smiled.

"What of the maid I asked you to get for her?" She asked, "She's here too" he sighed. "Mom you're not even asking how your son will cope, kedai kawai your daughter in-law" he whined. "It's your children that will benefit from her knowledge ai, if you like stop her" she said and he laughed at her reply.

A thought hit me at that moment making my heart beat in marathon, what if I get pregnant for Yusuf, does that mean I'm glued to this kind of life forever?, Will Yusuf ever change?, Will I ever be happy with him?, These questions continued circulating through my head.

"Say bye to Mom" he gestured the phone at me. "Umma sai anjima, Allah ya qara lafia, I'll call you when I settle down in the school" I said. "Toh Hauwa'u, sai anjima, a kula kinji ko" she said. What she meant by in kula was that I should respect my status as a married woman, only if she knows what her son is doing, but I won't put that against her, no doubt Umma is a very nice woman.

Yusuf and his parents relationship is a typical example of the hausa adage; Albasa Bata Yi halin ruwa ba AND also Ka haifi da baka haifa halinsa ba.

"Okay, let's get going" he said and I nodded my head in response. I went and said my Salam to the cook and maids in the house, I like the fact that they don't mock or disrespect me though they know everything going on in the house, I'll surely miss them. Our things were loaded in the trunk of the car and we drove off.

"Ina wuni" The girl who I assume to be the maid that'll go along with ha greeted.

"Lafia qlau, how are you?" I asked, "I'm fine" she said. "What's your name?" I asked. "My name is Habibah"  "Sannunki" I said and she smiled.

The drive was so peaceful and quiet, and in less than hour we were already in Gwagwalada Area Council. Fahab Estate to be precise.

We passed the main gate, and after passing few houses the car came to a halt. "We've arrived" he said, "Okay" I responded, he leaded the way and we followed suit.

It's a Bungalow house with a sitting room, 2bedrooms with toilets inside, and a kitchen. "Like what you see?" He asked, "Yes, thank you, but Yusuf why do you talk nicely to me days?" I chuckled, he's changed totally.

"Don't feed your self with delusions, I'm just fulfilling the promise I madeto Mom" he said and headed outside. "Let me show you the way to the school, it's just a few minutes walk from here" "Alright"

I placed Maryam on the bed and followed him. We strolled down to the school and he showed me some places our way back.

"This is the closest Estate to the school, and it's affordable and comfortable, hope you enjoy your stay here" he said amidst pressing his phone. "The Security guard is here, if you need something just talk to him, he'll get it for you from the market" he stood up.

"Are you going already?" I asked, "Of course" he adjusted his cap.

Lier

"What did you just say?" He moved close to me, did I say it out loud?, "N.. nothing" I stammered. "No,repeat what you just said"

"I didn't say anything" I said covering my face with my hands, I'm afraid he might hit me. He shook his head and went out of the house so I went after him "Allah ya kiyaye hanya" I muttered. "Ameen" he said not giving me a glance. "Driver muje" he said to him. I heaved a sigh immediately they drove out of the house. What a relief!.
