"Stop fidgeting. The dinner is not going to be bad Rose," Dimitri says grasping my hand in his warm one as we walk towards one of the classy restaurants in the center of court. Lissa had talked me into wearing a dress that I had buried in the back of my closet, and this being the nicest one I owned that was suitable for this place I reluctantly wore it. A moss-green calf length wrap dress with a modest v-line and soft three-quarter sleeves but judging on the way Dimitri's eyes roamed my body hungrily I felt a surge of extra confidence that I looked hot. Although, Dimitri looked like someone who walked out of a magazine in his dark washed jeans, light blue shirt and duster and his hair tied at the nape of his neck.

"I really don't want to go in the first place Dimitri," I groan petulantly, dragging my feet. He shakes his head at my antics with a subtle eye roll and turns in front of me. Placing his hands on my hips, he leans down and places a kiss on my nose.

"How about this, I promise that you can have my dessert. And I'll buy you chocolate doughnuts in the morning," he says trying to pacify me. I put a thoughtful look on my face and wrap my arms around his neck and think his offer over.

"Hmm, stay the night and I promise I'll be on my best behaviour," I quip with a man-eating smile, pulling myself closer to him.

"Again?" he laughs. "You do know that we are leaving for our trip in the morning, and you will have me 24/7 for the next four weeks?"

"Yes, but I sleep better when you're there," I state. He mutters something in Russian and places a kiss on my lips.

"You do know I don't know what you're saying right?"

He laughs a deep laugh and whispers in my ear, "Roza, you will be the death of me."

I smile taking his response as a yes, I place my hand in his again and start walking with fervour. Walking into the restaurant, I take a moment to look around the room as my guardian training kicks in. Noticing that there are other guardians lining the room I relax a little, but you can never be too careful. Dimitri tells the hostess who we are here with and places a hand on the small of my back and walks beside me as the hostess leads us to where the rest of the party is.

Nearing the table, I can see four people sitting there, and chuckle internally when I see Adrian is also sitting at the table. Lissa is sitting next to Christian and Tasha, wearing a lovely lavender tea-length dress and her hair up in a bun. Christian looking as broody as always is wearing a black shirt and pants, but I see that Lissa got him to wear a tie that matched her dress perfectly. Tasha on the other hand, is wearing an ice blue dress that shows a little more skin than it should, but compliments her slim figure, and pulled the front of her jet-black hair back with small clips.

"Dimka!" Tasha squeals as we approach the table and she throws herself towards him in a hug, and Dimitri being the gentleman that he is catches her and returns the hug in a friendly gesture. I suppress another eye roll.

"Hi Tasha, you look lovely," he says as he pulls back from the hug and smiles at her. They may be old friends, but I still do not like her. Nor do I like the idea of her arms around him, but it is something I'm going to have to put up with. He did turn down her offer for me.

Lissa, Christian and Adrian all stand up from the table as well, Lissa coming over and gushing about how beautiful I look, Christian making a snide comment about how the colour of my dress looks like vomit and shaking Dimitri's hand.

"You look beautiful, Little dhampir, Dimitri is a lucky man," Adrian says as he pulls me into a friendly hug and then shakes Dimitri's hand. Judging by the tightness in his jaw, Dimitri is not impressed with Adrian hugging me, but Adrian is my friend too. Dimitri pulls my chair out between him and Adrian and I sit down and voice my thanks.
