y'all already know what swim trunks he's wearing ;)
"Mind if I join you guys?"
My head quickly whips around, my eyes greeted by this man for the third time tonight. Is this the Universe dangling this celebrity in my face to mock me?
I take a minute to fully take in the man in front of me. I almost can't believe that he is real. He is dressed only in yellow swim trunks, his bare chest exposed. My eyes wander over all of his tattoos, trying to quickly memorize every line and stroke. I feel my cheeks becoming rosier as my eyes find their way to the moth on his abdomen. I've never seen such a delicate creature look so masculine before; the fragile wings almost look dangerous placed over his solid muscles. When I realize I've been staring for far too long, I quickly snap my focus back to my friends in the water.
Tyler detaches his mouth from Mackenzie and smiles wide. "Styles! Get the fuck in here dude!" He hollers. Mackenzie quickly climbs off of his lap and puts some distance between them, probably trying to give Harry the impression that she's available. At the same time that she scoots away, Lucas hooks his arm around my waist and gently pulls me closer to him, creating space for Harry next to me. He passes the joint back to Tyler.
"Styles, have you met these ladies yet?" Lucas asks as Harry sinks into the water.
Harry gives me a warm smile. "Yeah, I made Luna some drinks not too long ago but," he turns to Mackenzie, "I haven't had the chance to introduce myself. I'm Harry."
Mackenzie's cheeks begin to turn pink, but she keeps her cool composure. "Hi Harry, I'm Mackenzie, or Mack, or whatever other nicknames you want to call me." She says, the tone of her voice suddenly becoming slow and seductive. I bite the inside of my cheek to keep from laughing at her. She is too much, but that's why I love her. "How do you know Tyler and Lucas?" She asks, acting as if she doesn't know literally everything about the man in front of her.
As Harry responds, I feel Lucas's hand begin to rub small, lazy circles into my hip. "Lucas's mom is my manager, and his dad works at the label I'm signed to." Harry says casually, as if he isn't a superstar.
Mackenzie bats her eyelashes innocently and pretends to be confused, her eyes furrowing together. "Label? Are you a musician?"
Lucas and I both stifle a laugh, I completely forgot about Mackenzie's plan to pretend she doesn't totally stalk Harry Styles.
"Oh I'm sorry. Um, I thought you were Luna's roommate who she said was a big fan. I would've explained that better."
Mack's eyes quickly snap to mine and they widen, giving me a why didn't you tell me you actually talked to this guy look. She looks back at Harry and awkwardly laughs. "Oh, I'm Luna's... other roommate." She lies, trying to save her dignity. She was totally busted.
As funny as this situation is to watch, I feel bad watching her cheeks redden, so I decide to take the attention off of her and change the subject. "So Harry, do you live in LA?"
"Yeah, um, I have a place here. I also live back in London as well." He replies, playing with his lips between his thumb and index finger.
"Wow," I say, "That's really cool that you get to travel a lot."
Mackenzie interjects, eager to talk to her celebrity crush. "What's your favorite place you've ever been?"
Tyler rolls his eyes and takes a big drag from the joint, clearly disinterested in the conversation. Or maybe he was jealous that Mack was fawning over Harry.
"Um, I don't know." He speaks slowly. "I really like Japan. I stayed there for, um, a little bit while I was writing my last album."
Lucas takes the joint from Tyler and brings it to his lips. As he exhales, he says, "This dude has literally been all over the world! He's a fucking rock star!" I could tell how much Lucas admired Harry and how cool he thought he was. His demeanor appeared to be the exact opposite of Tyler's, who seemed to just be envious of Harry. Harry shyly looks at the water, unsure of what to say in response. He seems really humble, like the fact that Lucas called him a 'rock star' made him uncomfortable. Since no one added anything to Lucas's comment, he continues, "I mean seriously. Girls from all over the world are dropping their panties for this guy. He's a goddamn legend!"
This comment only makes Harry more uncomfortable and he stays staring at the water, running one of his large hands through his curls.
"Well," Tyler says, standing up in the water. "I'm going to get us some more drinks." His attitude only highlights how annoyed he is with the attention Harry attracts and it makes me giggle to myself. I understand though; I think if I were a man, I'd be incredibly jealous of Harry. He doesn't even have to try and he's incredibly charming and polite. And not to mention drop-dead gorgeous, my subconscious adds.
"So Harry," Mack says, pulling me out of my thoughts. "Are you staying here tonight?"
"Um, no, I'll probably head back home later. I've only had one drink so I should be completely sober by the time I leave." Harry replies.
I couldn't help but be in awe of how responsible he was, on top of how polite and respectful he was as well. I seriously haven't seen a negative side to Harry tonight; I wonder if he has any.
"Bummer." Mack says, sliding closer to Harry. "We'll probably be here all night."
I clear my throat, surprised by this news. "No Mack, I have so much shit to do tomorrow I have to go home tonight. Can we just Uber?"
"I can take you guys home later if you want. Just let me know when you want to leave." Harry offers, locking eyes with me.
Lucas shifts uncomfortably and tightens his grip on me. "Don't you want to spend the night Luna?" He says softly, his hot breath hitting my face. I did tell myself earlier that I would let Lucas make a move on me, would I be missing my chance if I went home tonight?
I shift my eyes from Harry to Lucas, chewing on my bottom lip while I made my decision. "Thank you so much for offering Harry, but you don't have to drive us. I guess Mack and I will crash here tonight."
Lucas hums with a cocky smirk playing on his lips. Harry nods and leans back against the jets in the hot tub. I can't help but feel a little strange that a huge celebrity offered my friend and I a ride home and I turned him down.
Maybe I made the wrong choice.
