Is everyone ready?

If you are a masochist, listen to this rewrite of FTDT, it will kill you. I'm using lyrics from this in the chapter, so it will be helpful to listen first. Picture Harry singing this to Luna, I cried so hard.

The ride home was nice; I sat in the back seat with Anne, Harry sat in the passenger's seat next to the driver. Anne grilled me the entire way home about whether or not I am a fan of Harry's music. She asked me if I listened to One Direction, and when I told her the truth she was shocked that I hadn't. "I don't know," I told her, "I just never listened to boy bands."

I told her about Mackenzie, and how she is quite literally Harry's biggest fan. Anne laughed when I told her about how Mack used to own a life-size cardboard cutout of Harry back when One Direction first formed. She told me about the day he auditioned, and how they all wore special matching t-shirts to support him. She teared up as she gushed about how proud she is of him and how far he's come. I asked about what Harry was like as a kid and Harry groaned in the front seat, knowing his mom was about to embarrass him. She told me he was always happy, he was always smiling and laughing with everything he did. She said he started singing at a young age and used to sing around the house using a hairbrush as a prop microphone. Anne told me a little about Harry's sister, Gemma, who wanted to be at the show tonight but couldn't make it. Finally, she announced that she was going to show me baby pictures of the two of her children on her phone, but Harry got too embarrassed and told her to 'be cool.'

When she asked about my family, an awkward tension filled the car. "Mum, we talked about this," Harry muttered to her, keeping his eyes forward. Did he tell her about my family? He cared enough about my feelings to make sure she didn't bring it up, that's so thoughtful. I wondered what Harry had told his mother about me, I didn't realize he cared for me enough to even talk about my family with her. It's nice reassurance that I'm not the only one that is invested in the spark between us.

Anne's face got flustered and she started apologizing profusely, "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. I completely forgot. I didn't mean to overstep."

"You're fine, don't worry about it. It's okay," I reassured her, genuinely meaning it. No wonder Harry is so sweet, his mother is so lovely. Talking with her makes me wonder what kind of person I'd be if my mother was this kind and supportive. Seeing how teary-eyed she got when she spoke of Harry's audition and how far he's come made my heart ache-my mother has never and will never support my hopes and dreams, unless they involve me being insanely wealthy.
