Does anyone know any videos where the audio is clearer for this song??
Also can we talk about Harry at the St. Paul show... unreal.
Thursday, October 8th.
I drop my dance bag on the bench and take off my sweatshirt, leaving me in my tight black leotard. I sit down and rifle through my bag to find my pointe shoes and I slip them on.
Just as I pulled into the studio, Harry sent me an MP3 file of his two unreleased songs that I asked him about. I told him he didn't have to send them to me, but he insisted because I said Anna was one of my favorite songs of his.
Since he just sent me the files and I really don't have anything else prepared, I decide to dance to one of those songs today; maybe hearing his breathtaking voice will help me figure out what I want to do for my recital, which is only two short months away.
I plug my phone into the large speakers after my shoes are on properly and I open the files he sent me. The theme of the recital is about love so I don't think Medicine is going to help me all that much to get my creativity flowing... I guess I'll play Anna. I really love this song, and I'm so excited to hear the studio version for the first time.
After pressing play, I take my position in the center of the room, facing the mirror and wait for the song to begin. As I hear the upbeat guitar, I begin to move to the rhythm.
"Don't know where you're laying, just know it's not with me. Don't know what I'd tell you if I passed you on the street."
This song is a little more upbeat than I would normally choose to dance to, but my quicker movements are helping me stretch and warm up my body. These lyrics remind me of the words Harry says to me in our most intimate moments, and it helps my body connect to the music.
Like the other night, before we slept together, he whispered in my ear as he kissed me, "you do absolutely wicked things to my mind and body" and "I genuinely can't handle the way you make me feel." As I dance, I see the parallels between these words he spoke to me and the lyrics playing out loud right now, "you don't know what you do to me" and "there's only so much I can take." Once again, his songs in which he wrote before he even knew me seem to fit us like a glove, like he and I were meant to cross paths. It's funny how universal music can be. Harry wrote this song at an entirely different point in his life, and yet I can relate to it so deeply, as I'm sure a lot of his fans can. I hope all of his fans named Anna are okay after hearing this. I can only imagine what Mack's reaction would be if he had written a song with her name in it...
