TW: this chapter will talk about the charges against Tyler and the assault. Nothing graphic.
THERE WILL BE A GRAPHIC PANICK ATTACK IN THIS CHAPTER.
Noon on Monday, October 5th
As I walk up to the English building, I can't help but feel weird not having Tyler talking my ear off about God knows what. I can't believe for weeks I've been laughing and chatting with that disgusting waste of space, the thought of it makes my stomach churn.
Mackenzie swears she's okay every time I check in on her, but I can't help but feel like she's lying. I know I wouldn't be okay.
Lucas texted me last night to tell me that Tyler's lawyers have advised him not to be on campus until they have the trial. Honestly, I'm glad. I probably would've punched him again if I saw him in this building, my building for my goddamn major. It would've been unavoidable to run into him. At least now, I can try and enjoy class in peace.
Professor Stine beams as I hand her my assigned poem, and she reads it immediately, unlike the rest of the stack that she places on her desk. She nods and smiles as she reads through my work before lifting her head up to face me, saying, "You have a very distinct voice, it's refreshing and very impressive."
I smile and thank her graciously. I'm so glad I am doing well in this class. Hopefully I am able to get a letter of recommendation from Professor Stine for the writing program. I guess we'll see.
