XII. What If

KENZIE'S POV

After the library me, Johnny and Lauren went to music
It was interesting hanging out with Lauren I was only really used to Emily being the only girl I'm around since Nadia left us
Although she wasn't very girly girl she's a bit tough you know

We walked in and Johnny and I sat in our group with Annie and Nadia
"Hey guys!" Annie said cheerfully

"Hi!" I responded

"So today we need to think of ideas for our song" Annie added

"Oh yeah but I just need to talk to the teacher about my friend Lauren" I said pointing to Lauren

I walked up to sir with Lauren and introduced her. He mentioned that she doesn't have a group and said she could join any group because groups were already assigned. Of course she wanted to be in the group with Johnny and I so we went back to to Annie and Nadia and explained the situation

"Now we're all here, let's get started" I said

"So I was thinkig maybe a duet with the best voices and everyone else can back up and play instruments?" Nadia said

"Of course you want that" I mumbled

"Okay so who are the best singers?" Lauren asked

"Well Johnny and I of course silly!" Nadia laughed

I rolled my eyes and looked away
I think Annie saw me looked down because she then said
"Not being rude but Kenzie can sing too? I agree we should have a male voice but for the girl should we do a vote or something?"

"Excuse me? Sorry I thought I made it clear I was in charge here?" Nadia snapped back

"Geez what are you on girl!" Lauren said looking Nadia up and down

"Hey don't say that to me you have no right!"
Of course Nadia starts get another argument

"Look really it's okay. If Nadia wants to sing she can" I confessed

"No she shouldn't get to shes being a bitch!" Lauren shouted

"Lauren!" Johnny said through his teeth giving her a look

"Okay let's just forget about this arguement so we can plan Johnny and mines duet" Nadia suggested

"Good with me" I mumbled

Johnny looked at me then looked back at Nadia then back at me before saying
"You know what, no. I might stop Lauren from saying stuff about you, but I'm not singing if it's not with Mackenzie"

I just looked at him, frozen

"You've GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! Nadia screamed
"I am a way better singer than her, this is ridiculous"

"Okay guys Johnny won't sing without Kenzie and we need Johnny so I guess Kenzie's going to have to sing for this assignment" Annie suggested

Just then I saw Johnny turn to Lauren and slightly whisper
"Can I talk to you outside?"
She nodded and got up and they left to go to the hallway

JOHNNY'S POV

I asked Lauren to come outside with me so I can talk with her. I pulled her into the hallway so that no one could hear us
"Stop being a bitch Lauren"

"I'm sorry what?! That stupid ginger girl is the idiot!" She hissed back

"Look no one knows about me apart from that Emily girl so if you carry on being arrogant and rude it's going to get me noticed!"

"Oh big deal! Before you hid out here you didn't care who you were mean to but now you suddenly want to be nice?!"

"Yes okay! Trust me there are times I want to explode and punch the hell out of people but I can't so you can't either"

"Your such a buzzkill! I was never allowed on your missions and now you want me to change my attitude!"

"It's just-"

"No I'll tell you what it is, that Kenzie girl has made you soft but you just won't admit it"

"I. Am. Not. Soft. So shut up, be nice and act normal" I replied

Lauren said whatever under her breathe and rolled her eyes. Afterwards we walked back into the music room

"So I was thinking we could do this song I started writing a while ago? It needs a bit of changing but it could work?" Kenzie said to me

"Oh yeah sure, what's it called?" I replied

"What If" she said smiling at me

Lauren kicked my leg from under the table so I shot her a look

"Let's see what you've got then Kenzie" Annie said to her

Mackenzie showed us all the lyrics she had and we all (except Nadia) agreed that it was good

"So Johnny why don't we work on this while they work on the notes for the music?" Kenzie asked me

"Oh uh yeah sure" I said shyly
Lauren got me thinking. Was she making me soft? I had never been soft in my entire life! Christ sake I went to prison!

"So the first lines could be something like
Let's talk about all those things that we shouldn't talk about
Those kind of words that would change all the things we talk about" I asked

"Yeah sure that sounds great!" She giggled

We got about half way through the lyrics when the bell rang.
"Time to go home I guess!" Kenzie joked

"Oh Johnny, Hayden and I are staying at a hotel by the way if you need us" Lauren added

"Okay" I simply replied

"Omgeee I forgot we have to go get you a phone!!!" Kenzie squealed  turning to me

After that we went out and to Emily's car. She drove us to the shops and dropped us off saying goodbye
When we walked in Mackenzie led us to this shop she called "apple"
I was looking at the phones when she ran over to me and said she just bought me one
"What!! I could have gotten it"

"No no it's my treat besides I knew the best phone to get so don't worry" she replied

"Well thank you very much Kenz. Not a lot of people would...do this for me" I responded

"Like I said, it's completely fine! Now come on I'm tired and I want to go home to sleep and watch some TV" she begged

"Alright let's go" I laughed

(A.N) I know nothing realllyyy happened this chapter but it was based for what if and the music project they had to do so yeah. I'm tired ugh
