XVII. The date

KENZIE'S POV

Once we all finished up at the beach, Johnny and Emily came home with me
When we got back I said I was going to get in shower quickly because I was all sandy
I don't know if I was worried about leaving Emi and Johnny together alone, they weren't really friends but Johnny is quite outgoing so hopefully it won't be too awkward
Just in case Ill be quick though

JOHNNY'S POV

Kenzie went off for a shower, leaving me and Emily together
I know she isn't much of a fan of me but I tried to make conversation
"So how long have you and Kenzie been friends?"

She sat there and rolled her eyes
"Don't act nice to me. And I can't believe your dating her. If she knew the truth-"

"Well she doesn't" I cut her off
"Look I know you don't like me-"

"You held me at gun point!" She cut me off

"And I'm sorry about that. I truly am. I was just in a tough situation and I needed to hide no matter what. But I've changed now! She's made me a better person. Since I first talked to her I felt my attitude and behaviour change for the better" I pleaded

"I don't care if you've changed! If anything happens to get it will be my fault for bringing you to her and not telling her the truth!" Emily hissed

"Believe me, I won't let ANYTHING happen to her"

"Tell her the truth" she stated

"W-what?" I stuttered

"Tell her. Or I will. She has to know" she added

"I c-cant she will hate me!" I replied

"Well I'm sorry but it needs to be said. It's unfair. Shes living with a criminal and she has NO idea of what your capable of. I don't even know what your capable of" she said, getting up and going to the kitchen counter

"Alright. My past isn't the best. I admit that! But-"

"ISNT THE BEST?!. You. Are. A. Criminal. You've. Been. To. Prison" she harshly said

Suddenly I heard a click and turned to the door
Kenzie was coming out of the shower

"J-just give me some time! I promise I'll tell her I just need to work up to it!" I pleaded
Emily looked at me for a couple minutes before saying
"Fine. You have 2 weeks. If you haven't told her by then I will"

"Tell who what?" Kenzie said while walking from around the corner
I quickly looked at Emily then back at Kenzie

"That um I wanted to take you on a date but I was worried you wouldn't want to!" I thought on the spot
Emily looked at me with a scowl but then said
"Yeah. I told him to go for it but he's a bit of a coward" while laughing

"You were going to ask me on a date?" She asked me again

"Y-yeah. Do you want to go on a date tonight?" I stuttered

She walked over to me and sat on my lap sideways with one arm around my neck

"I'd love to go on a date" she said smiling
