XIX. Jealousy

JOHNNY'S POV

I walked back into the room to see Sages arm around Kenzie and them still sat closely together
It boiled my blood to see her with someone else
What's wrong with me! I'm never jealous. This is wrong I shouldn't feel this protective, she's just a girl
I know we had a memorable time this morning but what if it was only memorable for me. What if when Sage came she forgot all about this morning and wants to be with him
All these thoughts surrounded my head and confused me
I didn't know what to think anymore but all I knew was it hurt to see her with him

"Johnny your back! Sage had this idea that we could all go to get ice cream" Kenzie exclaimed

"Oh really? That's cool but we don't have Emily's car" I shrugged

"You can use mine? It's just out front" Sage suggested

Great.
And so we got up and went outside. Parked in the street was this big, red, sports car

"T-thats yours?" I asked pointing to it

"Yeah haha got it last year" he shrugged as he opened the door
"Ladies first" he said gesturing to Kenzie

"Oh thanks! But I'll get in the back with Johnny" she replies, smiling at me

We got into the car and Sage began driving. In no time we were at the ice cream parlor and Kenz got excited

"So what flavour are you having Kenz?" I asked

"Oh! Chocol-"

"Chocolate chip" Sage finished smiling at Kenzie

"You remember!" She said squealing

"Of course!" He replied

Ugh does he have to be so cheezy!

They ran up to the counter and started ordering

"What do you want Johnny?" Kenz asked while turning around

"Oh uhm, just salted caramel" I replied smiling

After they ordered we sat down at a table. Kenzie sat in the booth first but before I could it next to her, Sage came and got there before me. Therefore I sat in the seats opposite them

They were talking to themselves for a bit until Sage turned to me and asked
"So what do you do?"

"What do you mean?" I replied

"Johnny's at school with me. He's Emily's cousin" Kenzie told him

"Ohhh okay. What's your favourite subject?" He asked

"Oh uh I'm not really good at any" I chuckled

"That's a total lie! Johnny is amazing at music. He can play the guitar and sing!" Kenzie laughed

"Really? You sing? Have you ever trained?"

"Trained? In singing? No is that a t-thing?" I said scratching the back of my neck

"Well yeah! Some people get vocal coaches you know" he replied

"Oh well I haven't had one" I laughed

"Well I'm going to have to hear this voice sometime" he joked

"Johnny and I wrote a song for music! It's called what if" Kenzie excitedly said

"Then I have to hear it later!" Sage added

Kenzie got a bit of ice cream on her chin and sage wiped it off smiling at her then laughing
