"Yeonjunnie Hyung, can you try reading this and tell me if it's good enough?"

Soobin is a sixteen years old boy who loves to write and read different types of literary works. Be it poems, proses, or stories.  Ever since he was a child, it had been his dream to become a writer. Yeonjun was always there to support him ; reading the younger's works, then be left amazed.

"Of course!" The older chirped, while smiling, he gently grabs the notebook and started reading the short story Soobin wrote.

Whilst waiting, Soobin looks over at the ocean in front of them. The waters were calm, as the birds above it flew freely. Yeonjun and him were on the seaside, their usual spot to hang out almost every day.

"Wow, Binnie! This is so good!" Yeonjun had his mouth open in amazement as he looks at the younger. He could never get enough of Soobin's writing, the younger was so good in expressing his emotions through inks and papers.

Soobin smiles and grabs the notebook back, "Really? I don't think it's good enough though."

Squinting his eyes as his plump lips formed a pout, Yeonjun speaks, "The best author will be the one who is ashamed to become a writer as told by Friedrich Nietzsche. That's a quote I found on the internet, do you understand what I'm trying to imply here?"

Gently slapping the older's shoulder, Soobin chuckled, "Yes, Hyung. Thank you, for always supporting me."

Slowly intertwining their fingers together, Yeonjun stared at the younger with his ever-so-beautiful-brown-orbs, "I love you."

"I love you, too."

"Why are you always writing about sad stories? How about a happy ending?"

That is because not all stories should end with a happy ending. Not everyone gets to live happily in the end, we all have open cracks that cannot be healed just by meeting someone whom we'll love. Sometimes, when we have these cracks overflowing with pain and agony, it'll just crack even more when we love. Honestly, love isn't just about smiles and happiness, it's also about breaking and sacrificing. Some people got broken because of loving too much, and there are people who had to sacrifice themselves so that the person they love would be happy.

So, how about ending a story the way it should be ended?

"Soobin, let's talk about this. Please!" Yeonjun shouted from outside Soobin's house. He ruffled his hair in frustration, it was already evening, the sky had already painted itself in a darker shade of blue. Stars were twinkling, and the moon was watching them from behind the foggy clouds.

The door sprung open, revealing a not-so-happy Soobin. Eyes were throwing icy daggers, and his jaw was clenching. Wearing an over-sized brown tee, and pajamas.

"What's there to talk about? Leave," The younger said, his voice being calm, but evidently annoyed.

"No, I am not leaving 'til we fix this," Yeonjun said. His voice filled with determination to earn the other's forgiveness.

Walking out the house, Soobin was now inches away from the older one. Arms crossed over his chest, he speaks, "Let's just end everything between us."

A writer is suppose to understand. They are supposed to understand the characters that're a part of their story, but Soobin didn't. Instead, he only chose to understand himself.

Furrowing his brows, Yeonjun shakes his head, "No. I won't let that happen- ever! Baby, let's talk about this."

Scoffing, Soobin walks nearer the road and takes in a deep breath before turning to face Yeonjun, "I don't want to hear it. Just leave!"

A writer is suppose to see through the open cracks, point out your scars, and write stories for each scar you possess within you. They remember every scar, and bandage them with words to heal them. Yet, Soobin gave Yeonjun scars with his words.

Still not giving up, Yeonjun shakes his head yet again. "Soobin, please!" He walked closer towards the taller one and hugged him, but Soobin pushed him away. Specifically, towards the road.

Just then, a car passed by, hitting Yeonjun and shoving him to the ground. While being covered in crimson, he lost consciousness. Soobin felt his muscles clenched, preventing him from moving. He just stood there, shocked of everything that had happened in a span of seconds.

"Y-yeonjun..."

TWO YEARS HAD PASSED, and Soobin is now a famous writer with the pen name of 'Binnie'. Had already published three books, and gained thousands of readers.

Today, he's having a book signing event. A lot of people came to get the books they bought signed from the author himself, and lots of people also gave Soobin gifts and messages.

But only one caught his attention.

Standing in front of him now is a yellow-haired boy in his white tee and jeans, plastering a smile, the boy gave him two of Soobin's books to have them signed.

"I really love your works! Especially 'Love written on the Sand' and 'Should've Listened'! The books somehow felt real, were they written out of experience?"

Not able to answer, Soobin was left loss with words. He was holding in his tears, and the urge of hugging the yellow-haired boy. It's been years since he last saw him, he missed him so much. Those glistening hazel eyes, his plump lips, and his sweet voice. He missed them all.

Even though you don't remember me, you're still supporting me as you did before, Soobin thought.

"A-ah yes, the books were about someone... I lost. Books filled with regret and things that I should've done," Soobin smiled, but his eyes screamed sadness. Just like a writer who kept silent, but their words screamed everything they wanted to say.

The boy frowned and grabs the books back after Soobin had signed them, "I hope you'll feel better soon. I'm sure that you'll have a happy ending," The boy chirped which made Soobin chuckle.

"Thank you," Soobin smiled, "Yeonjun..." He mumbled.

Yeonjun bowed and walked away. He opened one of the books to see Soobin's signature, but instead, he was met by a message written down by the author himself.

Thank you for always supporting me up until now, Yeonjunnie. I hope one day, you can forgive me...

- Soobin
