Just by looking at the large doors leading to his office, my heart starts racing. Maybe I shouldn't have accepted the offer. Am being a babysitter, I could have just looked for a job elsewhere, like a coffee shop or maybe a bakery just somewhere I don't need to enter an office and have a goddamn interview

"Sir, the first interviewee is here," the short plump woman says once she opens the door

"She's late," the deep voice says. "Let her in."

"Of course," the woman walks back to me and gestures to me to get in which I do. The office is large, nothing like I had imagined. There's a large mahogany desk sitting right before the large windows. A large black leather executive chair behind the large desk and two others right in front of it. The desk has a computer and piles of documents scattered around

There's a sofa on the side facing the TV screen and two egg chairs beside the sofa. This office looks better than my whole house, so embarrassing. There's a shelf decorating with flower vases and has books arranged neatly on it

"Are you done looking around," The deep voice breaks me out of my trance

"So sorry sir," I say nervously

"You're Lisa right," He says looking at the file in his hand. That must be mine

"Yes sir,"

He looks at me and smiles but it immediately fades when he looks at my dress. He stands up and walks towards the large windows

"You don't look ready for an interview," he says looking out at the view of the city

"It was just a small accident as I was coming into the building," I say trying to get a hold of my breath

"Oh really," he says looking back at me his brown eyes looking right through my soul. This is worse than doing a presentation in front of Ms. Jenkins that woman was the devil in a sheep's coat

"So why do you want to be a baby sitter?" he asks his figure fully turned to look at me

"Well at first I really needed a job to keep me busy as I wait for my license to be ready but then I realized I just didn't want that otherwise I would have just found another job," I clear my throat to hide my trembling voice

"And you still had the audacity to come in late,"

"Am so sorry sir," I say quickly

"Am gonna excuse that but that some points out," he says walking towards me. My heart is racing and I can literally feel my blood flowing through my veins

"You don't look like someone who's good with kids," he says when he gets close enough

"I am great with kids, I love kids,"

"Okay so pop quiz, what would you if my daughter really wants to go out to the mall but I have said no?" That's the trick question?? Really Mr. Logan you could have done better

"Well it depends on the situation and I don't mean in a way that I'll be breaking the rules. Sometimes parents can be unfair so if your daughter really wants to go to the mall and you have said no with no apparent reason I might just have to sneak her out,"

"That's your honest answer," he says a smile on his face

"Yes sir,"

"Well okay, I have looked at your file and you really seem educated. I really have no idea why you'd wanna be a nanny. But it's okay you will get a call from Mandy by the end of today if you have the job. That will be all,"

"Wait that's all?" I ask in disbelief and quickly cover my mouth

"Did you want anything else?" he asks sitting back at his desk

"No sir, I really hope I get the job,"

"Sure... sure," he says not looking at me. Ouch

.

I had to pass by a diner to at least put something in my already growling stomach and question my life decisions. Is this the man that I have been crushing on for the past three years? He's arrogant and I don't like his attitude. He literally shooed me out of his office like am some kind of bug

Am sure am not getting that job. First of all I looked like a mess when I walked into that office he was obviously not impressed and compared to the girl who was after me there's literally no chance. I order a burger and a banana smoothie to go with it but when I take my first bite my appetite disappears and I just end sitting at that booth for almost an hour as I look out the window at people going on with their businesses

"I hate my life, just please give me my license so I can start looking for the job I deserve already," I mumble to myself hitting my head on the table. After a moment of groaning and mumbling some motivational quotes to myself I drive back home

"Didn't expect you to be back this early," Belle says taking her glasses off

"Turns out am not getting the job," I say sloppily falling on the couch

"At least take off your shoes and how sure are you?" she asks and I point to myself

"Cant you see that am a walking mess, I wouldn't wanna hire myself let alone let myself into my office," I say

"Come on don't be too hard on yourself," she says. I hear her footsteps getting closer and she wraps her arms around me. I love Belle, she always finds a way to make everything better even with her silly jokes

"I know you're just sad because the guy you've been crushing on did not pay any attention to you," she says holding back her laughter

"Thanks for making me feel better Belle, but at least I got to see him in a closer view."

"And am sure it's not gonna be the last. You don't know whether you're gonna be called or not so all you have to do is wait,"

"Oh! I wish you could see the girl I was going up against,"

"Am praying she sucks," she says pulling away

"Trust me, she doesn't," I say

"Come on, cheer up and even though you don't get the job you can still find another. And by the way you don't look like a kids person,"

"Why does everyone keep saying that?" I say whining

"Coz it's true, have you looked at yourself as you walk on this street. You look like you're gonna kill someone,"

"You know you're doing a great job in cheering me up," I say a tinge of sarcasm in my voice

"I know darling, just have something to eat am sure you've been thing about my pancakes all morning,"

I am woken by my phone buzzing. I had not set any alarm because I had not planned on waking up until maybe midnight but someone had to ruin even that for me

"Hello," I say harshly not bothering to look at the caller

"Hello, am I speaking with Lisa Colman," the lady on the other end says

"Yes, who's this?" I ask sitting up

"This is Mandy from Smith Enterprise, am calling about the interview you had this morning,"

"Yeah what about it?" I ask not sounding any way interested

"Well, luckily for you, you got the job and you're expected to come into the office tomorrow at eight to discuss about it,"

I feel a wave of joy overwhelm me. I was not expecting it I had actually forgotten about my massacre of an interview I had

"Oh my goodness, thank you so much. I'll be there. Thank you..." She hangs up as I blabber out my thanks. She's got some attitude but I don't mind

"Belle!!" I call for my roommate from her room

"What?" she answers not bothering to come to my room

"I got the job,"
