LOGAN SMITH
"You have no idea how much effort I have put into this party," Colette says from the phone. It has been long since she called and I am grateful for that coz I got the chance to fix my relationship with Lisa and even make it more
"Logan are you still there?" Her squeaky voice brings me from my trance
"Yes," is the only thing I say. For the past three weeks I have been planning on how to talk to my parents about my engagement with Colette and tell them how Lisa is going to be my bride
It's crazy I know but I have no idea where to start. Colette has already started planning our engagement and she'll be back in like two days and I have promised Lisa that she'll not be the other woman
The problem is..how do I get myself out of this. I listen to Colette chanting about how big the party will be and how much she's planning to spend for the wedding figuring out the right words to tell her
If only I could just blurt it out. But I can't coz it'll hurt her more than when I explain it to her. When did I become this soft?
"Hey," Lisa says peeking her head into my office
"Colette we'll talk about it later," I say hanging up noticing the frown on Lisa when I mentioned her name
"Hey, what's up?" I ask standing up and walking towards her. She has a small bag in her hand and a bright smile once again falls back on her face
"I thought you might be hungry," she says shyly when I wrap my hand around her and pull her in for a kiss
"What was that again?" I ask smirking obviously enjoying the red tinge on her cheeks
"I brought you some food. I have nothing to do all day since you're at work and Ella is at school...so I made you something," she says trying her best to avoid my eyes
I take the bag from her hand using my free hand while the other is still around her and smile leaning back down to capture her lips. Her hands grip on my shirt as we deepen the kiss
"Logan ..I ...just came..to..umm ...to bring the food," she manages to say as my lips trail to her neck. She pushes me away her face flustered and goes to sit on my chair
"Ok boss," I say winking at her. The dish has a well packed pasta and the other with panzanella salad
"It might not be as good as yours but I still tried," she says looking at me as if waiting for me to judge
"I will eat everything you cook and then maybe later I can eat you," I say resting on the desk and looking at her eyes. She blinks quickly and smacks me on the head before telling me to sit down and eat. The food was great... she's a great cook
"Was that Colette you were with on the phone," she asks tapping nervously on the desk
"Yeah," I place my dish back on the small table and walk towards her. She must be thinking that I lied to her and am in love with Colette or something of the sort
"She called to talk about the engagement party," I say and she stiffens her hands in a fist
"Am gonna call it off..okay," I say turning the seat so she's facing me. She nods not really believing my words
"All I have to do is talk to my parents about it and everything will be okay. I don't care what they do as long as I have you," I say kissing her forehead and pulling her towards me. She wraps her hands on my waist and rests her head on my torso as I play with her hair
She's trying her best to not let this get to her but she has her own insecurities. It's gonna be hard to trust me when I have not done anything to tell my parents about this but my father is not the friendliest person
"I love you okay," I say and I feel her nodding
Am gonna have to deal with this before everything goes south
I've got to gain her trust
This week has been extra busy...am so sorry
I'll post the other chapter tomorrow morning maybe two to make up for this short chapter
