KOL AND KEZIAH HAD BEEN IN DENVER FOR a couple days now; per Nik's request. He wanted Kol to keep an eye on Jeremy Gilbert in case he needed a bargaining chip. Turns out Keziah's ex friends had discovered some white oak stakes that could kill the Original family. No-one was killing Kol on her watch. He meant too much to her. She didn't know what she'd do if she lost him.
She'd made sure to keep a close eye on him, once they found out Finn had died. It was like he didn't even care about his brother. She knew he did, he just didn't want to show it.
They were lying on the couch, well, Kol was leaning against the armrest as she leant against his chest in between his legs. His fingers were mindlessly drawing shapes on her arms. She felt relaxed in this stressful time.
"Where were you born, darling?" Kol asked. He wanted to know everything he could about her and her him.
"New Orleans." She mumbled.
"My family helped build that city. And as for the witches, well, they're something else. I always admired the ones I knew." Keziah watched Kol's face as he remembered the past. He looked like he missed it. "Why did you leave?"
"We didn't want to, but because I wasn't normal, they saw me as a threat. I would siphon from other witches by accident. I was young, I didn't know what I was doing. So, they banished us. Kicked us out of our own home. As you saw, my parents resent me for it. They lost their connection to magic as they performed ancestral magic."
Kol pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Have you ever wanted to go back?"
"Oh, I would love to. I miss my cousin, Davina, the most. She's like my best friend. Yeah, we call each other whenever we can but it's not the same." Davina was the one person who didn't see Keziah as different. She treated Keziah like she should be.
"I'll get you back there one day. I promise you."
She smiled at Kol, thankful that he was with her. She didn't know what she'd do without him. "Come on, you've got somewhere to be." She teased standing up and holding her hand out for him. Kol groaned at the fact that he now had to go and play friend with Jeremy Gilbert.
She yelped as he grabbed her hand and pulled her down back onto the couch. Her laughter was quietened by his lips meeting hers. She couldn't help but melt into it.

Keziah Rose walked alongside Kol, invisible to everyone else around them. Kol had wanted her to stay behind like she normally did when he was hanging out with Jeremy. This time was different. She felt like something was going to happen. She managed to win the argument by promising him that she would stay invisible.
