SPENDING MONTHS ON END IN A PRISON WORLD with Kai was a pain in the ass. But they became close friends. They bonded over the fact that their families and covens hated them for who they were. Kai was an annoying little shit, but they only had each other. They knew everything about each other, he told Keziah his life story and she told hers. He even managed to put up with her crying over Kol's death, although he was extremely uncomfortable the whole time.

There were even some advantages to their situation, like how they could walk into Disneyworld for free. They spent a whole week learning how to operate the rides before they actually went on them and had fun.

It seemed that when they arrived back in Mystic Falls, luck was on their side. They had taken residence in Keziah's family's mansion, it looked completely different as her family hadn't owned it in 1994, but it was still home. Kai was currently there, doing god knows what, whilst Keziah was just walking along the streets. Sometimes, Kai could be too much, and she just needed some alone time.

Walking down the familiar street, she couldn't help but frown. She spent so many days at Elena's house when they would all hang out only to be pushed aside so many times.

She halted in her step, when she heard the distinct sound of voices. There wasn't anyone else here, was there? Cautiously, heading in the direction of the voices, they got louder.

"Alright talk me through it."

No fucking way. Damon Salvatore was here.

"Before the Other Side collapsed, my grams said that she made a sacrifice so that I could find peace."

And Bonnie Bennett. How the fuck did they get here? Keziah hid behind a car, getting as close as she could without them noticing she was there.

"The part where you actually have a theory."

"Well, this clearly, isn't peace, otherwise I wouldn't be stuck here with you."

"Rude."

"She must have—I don't know, sent me somewhere. And when I held your hand...it took you with me."

"Well, did she happen to whisper a safe word in her last breaths. A clue, maybe? Witchy path out of here?"

"No, but if we got here by magic, magic should be able to get us out."

"And that frown that's not upside down is telling me what?"

"Phesmatos incendia."

"Still can't do magic. Perfect."

Interesting, Bonnie Bennett doesn't have her magic and they don't know how they got here. Keziah had to tell Kai immediately.

Sneaking off without them seeing was easy, as soon as she was far enough away, she legged it all the way home. She found Kai lying on a lilo in the pool, a cocktail in his hand. She jumped in, not caring about the clothes she was wearing and swam over to him.

The giant splash caught his attention. "Keziah, what the hell? I was trying to tan." He shouted, lifting his sunglass onto his head.

She finally made it to him and crossed her arms on his lilo, resting against it. "Kai, I have the best news ever."

"You're in love with me? I'm sorry, Keziah but you're—"

"Kai—"

"—just not my type. I may have come on a bit too strong when we first met, but I'm a changed man now. I see you as—"

She cut him off by shoving him into the pool. When he resurfaced, she gave him a 'are you done' look. "We're no longer the only ones here."

"What do you mean?"

"Two more people are here. To be exact Damon Salvatore and Bonnie Bennett."

"Did you just say Bennett?"

She smiled as she nodded her head. "I did indeed."

"We're getting out of here!" Kai shouted.

"Woah, not that easily. Bonnie doesn't have her magic."

"What do you mean she doesn't have magic?" The anger was evident in Kai's tone.

"She doesn't have access to her magic."

"She better get a grip on it, before I do something drastic." Kai threatened.

It had been two months of watching and waiting. We watched Bonnie and Damon like hawks, waiting for when Bonnie accessed her magic. It seemed that all they ever did was argue. Nothing interesting ever happened. It was Kai's idea to watch them, to see if anything ever happened. It never did.

"Kai, what are you doing?" Keziah whispered harshly at seeing him stand up, making it obvious of where they were hiding. They were outside the windows of the kitchen to the Salvatore Boarding house, crouching below them. Bonnie and Damon had argued again before she stormed away.

Kai pathetically waved his hand, summoning Keziah to come with him. She followed him inside through a door that led to the empty kitchen. "Kai!" She whispered again.

"Oh shush, Keziah. I think it's time we made our presence known. We're just gonna mess with them a little." A smirk appeared on his face as he walked over to the newspaper Bonnie had been working on over the months.

Kai flipped the pages until he landed on the nearly complete crossword puzzle, only 27 across was missing. "Don't tell me you know the answer?" She asked.

"Yellow Ledbetter." He spoke slowly as he wrote out each letter. "Took me a while to find a newspaper with it all filled in. Got on my nerves."

Keziah laughed quietly and followed Kai out of the house, not before stealing a few blueberries and popping them in her mouth.

"Let the mind games begin."
