ACCORDING TO C. THOMAS HOWELL (PONYBOY CURTIS) AND RALPH MACCHIO (JOHNNY CADE), THE TWO DIDN'T GET ALONG SOMETIMES ON SET, DESPITE BEING TOGETHER 24/7 AND BEING EACH OTHER'S BEST FRIEND ON SCREEN.
Tommy Howell (Ponyboy Curtis) had stated that he and Ralph Macchio (Johnny Cade) sometimes sparked arguments with each other, some being really stupid that actually caused Tommy to laugh at them later in life. Tommy had later claimed that he remembered one specific argument between him and Ralph, which was about how he wanted to beat his level on PAC-Man while Ralph wanted to rehearse lines instead, causing the two to get into an endless feud about it.
