S.E HINTON DIDN'T EVEN ORIGINALLY PLAN TO EVEN PUBLISH THE NOVEL "THE OUTSIDERS" IN THE FIRST PLACE, BEING FIFTEEN AND ALL.
Of course, S.E Hinton did end up publishing the book after all, but not until about four years later. She was fifteen when she first started writing it, making her a sophomore in high school, and still quite a young girl. Still, the book has a huge impact on people all around the world, despite it being written in the early '50s. Even though Hinton didn't plan to publish the novel, mainly because it wasn't a big deal at first, she was still very fond of the book.
