"Yeah, he just stood up and punched the kid." Younji told Heejin over the phone. "I told you, he's dangerous."
"He doesn't do it on purpose. I know he doesn't." Heejin defended Donghyuck. "He's too sweet for that. He has to have some sort of split personality disorder."
"Hm, that could be true. I could always ask Mark." Younji offered.
"That would be nice, thank you. Just don't pry and ask too much. It's Donghyuck's personal business and if he wants to tell, he will." Heejin stated. "Plus, I'm not even sure if he knows exactly what's going on with himself."
"Ah- I gotta go. My mom needs me. I'll talk to you at school." Younji said, screaming being heard in the background.
Heejin chuckled. "I'll see you tomorrow."
With that, the call ended. Donghyuck was still asleep up in Heejin's room. It had been almost three hours and she figured he would be awake by now or Mark would've come for him. She decided to call said male. The phone rang a few times, before Mark finally picked up.
"Hey, what's up?"
"You know Donghyuck's at my house, right?" Heejin asked.
Mark sighed on the other end. "I figured. I couldn't think of anywhere else he would go. I know he's smart and wouldn't get lost."
"He's sleeping now. He's been asleep for the past three hours." Heejin explained, trying not to make her worry evident.
"That's good. He barely ever sleeps. If he does, it's only for about an hour." Mark said. Heejin heard someone talking in the background, who she figured to be their grandma.
"Oh, then I'll let him sleep as long as he wants." Heejin replied. "I didn't know he doesn't sleep. I was starting to get worried."
Mark chuckled. "Your bed must be comfortable."
"Well, I do have an expensive mattress." Heejin boasted. She then heard footsteps coming from upstairs. "I think he's awake. I'll talk to you later."
"Bye, Heejin."
Heejin ended the call and turned off her phone, setting it on the counter next to her. She was sitting at the island bar in her kitchen. Donghyuck came around the corner, rubbing his eyes. Heejin could tell he had just woken up.
"Sleep well?" Heejin questioned, earning a nod from Donghyuck. "Hungry?"
Donghyuck sat down on the chair next to Heejin. "Just a little."
"Hm, how about some leftover chicken? I've got some in the fridge." Heejin suggested.
Donghyuck shrugged. "Sure."
Heejin smiled and took the chicken out of her fridge. She put some on a plate for him and put it in the microwave.
"I would've actually made you something, though. You don't have to eat my leftovers." Heejin said, turning to look at Donghyuck.
Donghyuck shook his head. "I don't mind."
The microwave went off and Heejin got the chicken out, placing it in front of Donghyuck. He immediately began eating. Heejin sat down next to him again, facing him as he ate.
"I was worried about you." Heejin said, resting her head on her hand. She had her elbow propped up on the counter. "Showing up at my house with tears stained on your face and then sleeping for three hours."
"You missed the part where I told you I hurt someone." Donghyuck added, not looking up.
Heejin scoffed. "I don't care. I know you didn't mean it."
"They're probably gonna suspend me again." Donghyuck admitted.
"I won't let them." Heejin assured. She set a hand on Donghyuck's arm. "They can try all they want. I won't let them do anything."
"People are gonna look at you like you're crazy. They're gonna wonder why you would want to be within even three feet of me." Donghyuck said.
Heejin was offended. She couldn't believe Donghyuck would even think of her that way. "I don't care what they think. I'm not them."
Donghyuck let his shoulders fall. "I just wish that there wasn't something wrong with me. I know I have some split personality disorder. I never know when I hurt people. My mind just switches."
Heejin scooted her chair closer to Donghyuck's and laid her head on his shoulder. "We'll get through this together. I promise."
