Donghyuck walked down the hallways, trying to find Heejin. He had no clue where she could be. He knew she was at school, because they were together earlier, but now he couldn't find her.
He saw Junhee talking to some kid along side the lockers and figured maybe he would know where Heejin was. He got closer to him and waited until he noticed him. He didn't, so Donghyuck listened to him conversation.
"That Donghyuck kid is so weird. I don't understand why my sister even likes him. He's a freak. I'm trying really hard to stay away from him." Donghyuck heard Junhee say. He was offended. Extremely offended, actually. He hated when people talked about him like that.
Suddenly, his mind switched and he was Haechan instead of Donghyuck. He walked over to Junhee and grabbed the collar of his shirt, pinning him against the lockers. Students in the hallway gasped and turned their heads towards the commotion.
"How dare you talk about me like that." Haechan growled. "No, wait. How dare you talk about Heejin like that. She's your sister."
Junhee couldn't do anything but stare at Haechan with wide eyes. Haechan had enough and turned, throwing Junhee to the ground. He kicked him once in the side and stood above him.
"If you ever talk about her like that again, expect a bigger beating." Haechan said, his eyes stilling burning.
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
Haechan looked up and his mind instantly switched back to Donghyuck. Heejin stood across the hallway, looking from Junhee to Donghyuck.
"Heejin, I'm sor-" Heejin cut Donghyuck off.
"I can't believe you! Other people are one thing, but beating up my brother? That's a new low." Heejin said, bending down to tend to her brother.
Tears were starting to well in Donghyuck's eyes. "I didn't mean it. He was-"
"I DON'T CARE WHAT HE WAS DOING! THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD HURT HIM!" Heejin screamed, her face turning red. She stood up and looked down at her wrist. She had made a promise to never ever do what she was about to do, but she was angry at the moment.
She grabbed ahold of the bracelet on her wrist and ripped it off, holding it in front of Donghyuck's face. "I know I made a promise to never talk this off, but now's the time for that promise to be broken." And with that, she threw the bracelet to the floor.
Donghyuck watched as the bracelet hit the floor. He was unable to move. He was hurt. The only person who had ever made a promise to him had broken it.
Once Heejin had taken Junhee away from the scene, Donghyuck bent over and picked up the bracelet. He looked at it, broken.
He stood in place, trying to figure out how he would make it up to Heejin. He knew he had to fix the bracelet, but it was going to take more than that.
Mark came over to Donghyuck and looked down at the bracelet in his hands. "You fucked up."
Donghyuck shook his head. "I didn't, but I did. He was talking shit about Heejin and I couldn't just stand around and let that happen."
"Wait, wait." Mark said, holding up his hand. "He was talking shit about his own sister?"
Donghyuck nodded. "And me, but I only care about what he said about Heejin."
"You're gonna get her back and I'm gonna help you." Mark said, leading Donghyuck down the hall to his next class.
