"HEEJIN! DONGHYUCK'S HERE!"
Heejin jumped off her bed, sprinting out of her bedroom and down the stairs. She spotted Donghyuck taking off his shoes by the door and ran towards him. She jumped up and into his arms faster than he could react, but he caught her regardless. He held onto her legs as tight as he could, as to not let her fall.
"Never ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER leave me like that again." Heejin said, taking in the scent of her boyfriend, who she hadn't seen in two whole days.
"I was only an hour away visiting my great grandma." Donghyuck chuckled, starting towards the stairs.
"That's too far to be gone for two days." Heejin complained, holding onto Donghyuck as tight as she could.
Donghyuck shook his head and began walking up the stairs. He left a kiss to the side of Heejin's head, which had her melting in his arms even more than she already was.
"I'm not letting go for two days." Heejin said, earning a sigh from Donghyuck, who sat down on the edge of Heejin's bed. Heejin brought her head up to look at Donghyuck. "Are you complaining?"
Donghyuck shrugged. "Not really."
Heejin leaned down and pressed her lips to Donghyuck's. He returned the kiss, relishing in the feeling of kissing his love.
Heejin sat back on Donghyuck's lap and stared into his eyes. "I really do love you and I missed you."
"I know you do. I love you, too." Donghyuck began, which put a smile on Heejin's face. "And trust me, I missed you, too. It was hard not being around you for two days. But I'm here now, so enjoy me while I last."
Heejin furrowed her eyebrows and frowned. "What is that supposed to mean?"
Donghyuck whinced and clasped his hands behind Heejin's back. "Nothing. Just forget I said anything."
"No, tell me what you mean." Heejin pushed, wanting an answer.
Donghyuck shook his head. "It's really nothing. I was just being stupid."
"I'm going to try not to raise my voice with you, because I know what will happen." Heejin said, earning a nod from the well knowing Donghyuck. "But please, tell me what's on your mind."
Donghyuck sighed and gave in. "One of these days, I'm not going to be here. I don't want you to get so attached that you can't live without me, but I don't want you to not pay attention to me while I am still around."
Heejin stood up and backed away from Donghyuck. "Why would you say something like that? Or even think it?"
"Because I'm a screw up, Heejin! I'm a mistake! A fucking burden! A problem for you!" Donghyuck snapped. He didn't mean to, but it happens.
Heejin's eyes went wide. She walked closer again and wrapped her arms around Donghyuck's neck. "You are none of those things. I wouldn't tell you that I love you on a daily basis if you were. You're a person just like everyone else."
"But what happens when I get myself killed or put in jail?" Donghyuck questioned.
Heejin shook her head furiously. "That won't happen. Not under my watch."
"And when I'm not under your watch?" Donghyuck asked, knowing damn well that he won't be with Heejin twenty four seven.
"You'll always be under my watch. Even if I'm not with you. I'm always watching." Heejin said, running her hands through Donghyuck's hair. "Do you trust me to keep you safe?"
Donghyuck nodded his head. "I love you. I trust you with everything."
Heejin smiled and planted a soft kiss on Donghyuck's forehead. "I love you, too."
******
Heejin laid next to Donghyuck, her laptop open to some assignment she had for english. She had been working on it for the past hour and was struggling.
"My english teacher is such a dumbass! Does she even know english!?" Heejin exclaimed, frusterated.
Donghyuck turned off his phone and set it aside, turning to look at Heejin. "What's wrong? You need help?"
"You can't help me." Heejin said. "It's the teacher that's the problem. She expects us to understand what she wants from us, but she doesn't tell us sepcifically."
"When's it due?" Donghyuck asked.
"In two days." Heejin answered, trying not to yell at her loving boyfriend.
Donghyuck moved the cursor up to the save button and clicked. Once it said it was saved, he shut the laptop and set it on the floor. He turned Heejin towards him and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist.
"Take a break and focus on me instead." Donghyuck spoke softly, immediately calming Heejin down. "You have plenty of time to finish that assignment."
"I just hate the teacher." Heejin mumbled into Donghyuck's bare chest.
"I know, I know. But there's nothing you can do, except take a break and go back to it once you've calmed down." Donghyuck said, throwing the sheet and comforter over the two.
Heejin let out a sigh of relief. "I'll fall asleep like this."
"Good." Donghyuck spoke. "You can forget about that assignment and get some rest. It's late."
"Late enough for you to stay?" Heejin asked, looking up at Donghyuck with pouty eyes.
Donghyuck nodded. "It's always too late to go home if I'm with you. Plus, your house doesn't smell like pot."
"I thought I told Mark to stop smoking those." Heejin said, an eyebrow raised.
"You know Mark doesn't listen." Donghyuck replied, earning a chuckle from Heejin, who was already half asleep.
