Heejin sat at her kitchen island bar early in the morning. She picked up her spoon and looked at the cereal it held. She usually had eggs or something, but she didn't feel like being productive today.
Donghyuck had come earlier, saying that Mark was hogging the only bathroom in their house and he was getting angry, so he decided to go over to Heejin's to take a shower and avoid an outlash.
Heejin had already showered and gotten ready, so she let Donghyuck do his thing. He came out of the bathroom with only pants on, rubbing his head with a towel to dry his hair. Heejin tried her hardest not to look at his toned body, but she was finding it extremely hard to do.
"Please put a shirt on. I won't be able to keep my eyes away if you don't." Heejin said, taking a bite from her cereal harshly.
"Okay." Donghyuck agreed. "But the only problem is, I forgot one."
Heejin snorted. "Well, you can't go to school without one. I'll let you borrow one, I guess."
Heejin stood up and went towards the stairs, Donghyuck trailing behind. She opened up the closet in her room and picked out a giant t shirt and handed it to him.
"That should fit. It's huge on me." Heejin said, closing up her closet.
Donghyuck slipped the shirt over his head and smiled. "It's perfect. Thank you."
Heejin started walking towards the door. Donghyuck came up behind her and tasered her sides with his fingers. She jumped and ran Donghyuck into the door frame. She gasped, but soon started laughing.
"Oh my god, Donghyuck. Are you okay?" Heejin asked, still laughing.
Donghyuck looked over at her with dark eyes. "You bitch."
Heejin's eyes widened. She figured she would've been scared by this, but she knew exactly what was happening. He was angry and the look in his eyes is the look he had when he's gonna hurt someone.
Heejin knew she couldn't act scared. She wasn't terrified, but she wasn't at peace in her mind, either. She decided her best bet would be to stay a few feet away and try to calm him down.
"Donghyuck, I'm sorry. I didn't mean run you into the door frame like that. I'm sorry." Heejin spoke slowly. She watched her words very carefully.
Donghyuck's expression was already faltering. "That hurt."
Heejin nodded. "I know it did and I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do it. You just scared me. That's all."
Donghyuck furrowed his eyebrows. "Oh, so I scared you?"
"Yes, that's all. I just wasn't expecting it." Heejin replied, watching Donghyuck's expression worsen again.
"Well, I wasn't expecting to be checked into the door frame, either." Donghyuck retorted, grabbing a chunk of Heejin's hair.
Heejin whinced. "Donghyuck, stop. It was an accident. I'm sorry."
Donghyuck yanked at her hair, pulling out a few strands. "Accidents aren't accidents if you're laughing at me."
Heejin put her hands on Donghyuck's chest and pushed him back a few steps. "Snap out of it. I was only laughing because I thought you would laugh with me."
Donghyuck tried to fight back and get closer, but Heejin was surprisingly strong. "Get your hands off of me."
"I want happy Donghyuck back. Where's happy Donghyuck? Find him in there and bring him back to me." Heejin tried, using the sweetest voice she could muster up.
Donghyuck's expression turned back to normal, his body relaxing a bit and almost falling to the floor from the lack of resistance he now had, but being caught by Heejin.
"Is happy Donghyuck back?" Heejin asked softly.
Donghyuck stood up straight and pouted. "I'm sorry."
Heejin gave him a small smile. "It's okay. I'm just glad happy Donghyuck is back."
Heejin looked down and saw her hair that Donghyuck had pulled out of her head. She bent down and picked it up, holding it in front of Donghyuck.
"Want some hair?" Heejin asked, chuckling.
Donghyuck sucked in a breath. "Did I do that?"
Heejin nodded, but saw tears start to form in his eyes. "No, don't cry. It's okay. It's hair. It'll grow back."
A single tear rolled down Donghyuck's cheek. "I'm sorry."
"Stop apologizing. It's just hair. You didn't snatch my whole weave." Heejin assured, wrapping her arms tightly around Donghyuck.
Donghyuck hid his face in Heejin's shoulder and let more tears fall. He was upset. He hurt her. The other people he hurt mattered and made him upset, but Heejin was different. She was more important to him than those other people. She cares for him and he cares for her. If he hurt her, it's the worst he could do. If she was scared of him, he wouldn't know what to do.
"Hey, stop crying." Heejin spoke. "We have school in twenty minutes."
Donghyuck lifted his head and sniffled. Heejin brought her hands up and wiped his tears away. She took him to the bathroom and put a cold cloth on his face to bring down the swelling and redness.
"Alright, school here we come." Heejin said, grabbing her and Donghyuck's bags. She led Donghyuck out the door and locked it, starting the walk towards school.
