Donghyuck and Heejin hadn't talked for almost a whole week. Heejin was clearly avoiding Donghyuck every chance she got. If she saw him walking down the hallway, she would turn into the closest room. If they were in the same class, she would switch seats with Younji, who was in most of her classes.
Younji knew what happened and would give Donghyuck sympathetic looks constantly, considering she always switched seats with Heejin and Heejin always sat close to Donghyuck in almost every class. Younji honestly felt bad for Donghyuck, because she didn't fully trust Junhee herself.
Mark did help Donghyuck try and win Heejin back like he said he would. All he really did was help Donghyuck fix the bracelet, but he did help. Donghyuck wasn't too upset about that. He knew he had to fix this problem with Heejin on his own.
Donghyuck was walking down the hallway towards his next class, when he saw Heejin walking the opposite direction, which was towards him. He thought her ignoring him had gone on long enough and decided he needed to talk to her.
Heejin tried to turn away, but she was in a spot with no classrooms right next to her. She was kind of stuck. Donghyuck came up to her and grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards a closet, despite her protests.
"Donghyuck, I don't wanna talk to you! Let me go!" Heejin exclaimed.
But Donghyuck didn't let go. He just continued pulling her towards the closet and closed the door behind them once he pulled her in.
"We need to talk, though." Donghyuck said, reaching into his pocket to make sure the bracelet was still there. It was.
Heejin shook her head. "I don't want to. Just leave me alone."
Heejin tried to turn and run out, but she looked up and saw a few stray tears run down Donghyuck's cheeks. Her soft side started to show and she stopped trying to run.
"Don't cry, please." Heejin said, wiping away Donghyuck's tears. "I'll listen. Just don't cry."
Donghyuck sniffled and wiped his face with the back of his hand. "I-I'm really, really sorry, Heejin. I didn't mean to b-beat him up. I just... He was talking shit about you and I couldn't just let him do that."
Heejin furrowed her eyebrows. "He was talking shit about me?"
Donghyuck nodded. "And me, but I only care about what he says about y-you."
Heejin tried to understand, but she trusts her brother and believes he would never do something like that. "He would never. I'm sorry, Donghyuck, but I don't believe you."
Heejin turned and started to walk away. She chose to believe in her brother and to leave Donghyuck. She wasn't completely sure if it was the right decision, but she had to go through with it.
"Please don't g-go!" Donghyuck sobbed. "I love you! Please don't l-leave me!"
Heejin stopped dead in her tracks. She was trying to figure out whether she heard him right. She turned around and looked him right in his eyes. "You what?"
"I love you! Don't leave m-me!" Donghyuck let out another choked sob and let his head fall into his hands.
Heejin was shocked. She never, ever expected Donghyuck to confess to her. Especially not like that. She ran over to him and wrapped her arms around him. "Shh, it's okay. I love you, too. I'm sorry."
Donghyuck wrapped his arms around her in return and buried his face in her neck. His sobs were loud and heartbreaking.
"Please don't cry. I'm sorry. Please, Donghyuck." Heejin said, holding back her own tears.
Donghyuck pulled back and stuck his hand in his pocket, pulling out the bracelet. He held it up and Heejin's eyes lit up. "Wear it."
Heejin smiled and took the bracelet from Donghyuck and began putting it on, but stopped and handed it back to Donghyuck. His face dropped.
"Put it on me." Heejin said. "I want you to put it on."
Donghyuck's smile was bigger than any smile could be. He put the bracelet around Heejin's wrist and hugged her afterwards. Heejin pulled back, which confused Donghyuck.
"I need more than a hug after that." Heejin chuckled and pressed her lips to his.
Donghyuck kissed back and smiled into the kiss. He secured his arms around her waist, kissing her passionately.
"So does this mean you'll be my girlfriend?" Donghyuck asked once they both pulled away.
Heejin smiled and nodded. "Of course, Donghyuck. I'll be your girlfriend. I'll be the best girlfriend I can be."
