Heejin sat at the lunch table and watched Donghyuck trace circles on it. He wasn't in a good mood, especially after his outlash earlier in the morning. He was quiet and slumped.

"Donghyuck, do you want a grape?" Heejin asked, holding up said fruit for the boy to take.

Donghyuck shook his head slightly and continued to trace on the table. Heejin sighed and closed up her lunch, putting everything back in her lunchbox.

She turned towards Donghyuck and placed a hand on his knee. "Cheer up. I miss your happy self. What happened this morning is over now and I want you to stop dwelling over it."

Donghyuck didn't say a word. He didn't even make a sound. He just wanted to curl up in his bed and sleep forever. He wanted Heejin to come with him, too.

Heejin let out an exasperated sigh. She stood up and went to the other side of the table, which was open. Younji had a schedule change for the day, so she was eating in Mark's lunch.

"Stop sulking." Heejin ordered, her voice demanding. "I will drag you everywhere I go until you perk up."

Just as Donghyuck was about to look up and say something, a boy from behind knocked into him, launching him forward towards the table.

Heejin knew what was coming next. She looked at the boy behind Donghyuck and shooed him away with her hand. "Go fast. He'll get up and you'll be dead meat."

The boy hesitated for a second, but started jogging away frantically. Donghyuck looked up with dark eyes. He was angry. His other side was coming out for the second time today.

In seconds, Donghyuck was up and running towards the boy who had knocked into him, catching up rather quickly. He pulled the back of the boy's collar and held him up off his feet.

"Why the hell did you bump into me?" Donghyuck asked through gritted teeth.

The boy scrunched his eyes shut, his own shirt starting to choke him. "My friend pushed me. I didn't mean to bump into you. I'm sorry."

Heejin saw the boy struggling to breathe and stood up, walking over to Donghyuck. "Let him go, Donghyuck. He can't breathe."

Donghyuck dropped the boy, who hit the floor and gasped for air. He turned to Heejin, his eyebrows furrowed. "Did you just tell me what to do?"

"I did." Heejin said with confidence. "And you listened."

Heejin suddenly felt a hand make contact with her face. She knew Donghyuck would slap her. She sassed him and he wasn't happy Donghyuck.

With all her strength, Heejin pounced forward and pushed Donghyuck backwards until his back hit a wall. She slapped him across his face and grabbed his collar.

"Pull yourself together. Snap out of it." Heejin stated firmly. "Bring happy Donghyuck back and stop being a bitch."

Donghyuck looked up at Heejin, eyes teary and a red mark appearing on his cheek. Heejin could tell he was back to normal. Who knew lashing out at him would stop him from lashing out?

"Glad you're back. Let's go put some ice on your face." Heejin said, leading Donghyuck back to their table.

Everyone in the cafeteria watched with wide eyes, wondering how Heejin could be so brave to act like that towards Donghyuck. The two sat down and Heejin grabbed an ice pack from her lunch, holding it carefully against Donghyuck's cheek.

The students were still staring and Heejin didnt't like it. "Go back to eating your lunches. He's fine and so am I."

The students all turned away and back to their lunches. Heejin looked at Donghyuck with soft eyes. He was frowning heavily, tears still welled in his eyes.

"You slap hard." Donghyuck whispered, hugging his knees.

Heejin chuckled. "Yours isn't too soft, either."

Donghyuck gasped and looked up, seeing a bright red mark on the side of Heejin's face. "I'm sorry!"

Heejin stomped her foot and clenched her teeth. "Stop apologizing to me! I told you, it's not a big deal. I don't care if you hurt me. I only care if you hurt others. I can take it."

Donghyuck shrunk back, scared of Heejin's angry side now. Heejin whinced and huffed. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get angry. I just want you to realize that I don't get hurt easily. I'm not a weak bitch and I can handle it."

Donghyuck reached for Heejin's lunchbox and pulled out the grapes, putting a few into his mouth. Heejin smiled and kissed Donghyuck's cheek, hoping it would make him feel better and make him happy.
