Raven's POV

''Big brother! Wake up'' The sound of a child wakes me up

I am too tired to even lift my hand up. I need five more minutes. Just five minites is enough.

Richard's POV

I went inside a room as I saw pink hair peeking through the blanket. It was my brother who has yet to wake up.

''Big brother!'' I exclaimed as I walked towards the bed.

He seems to be in deep sleep.

''Wake up!'' I strongly said, but he still doesn't budge from his current position.

I then backed up a little bit and ran towards the bed and jumped on my brother.

''Ugh! What the-'' My brother groaned as he slowly opened his eyes.

''Richard, what are you doing?'' he asked dumbfounded.

Raven's POV

I was about to fall into deep sleep and a sudden boom came.

It felt as if a giant meteorite came across from space and landed on my stomach.

I opened my eyes to see Richard with a big grin on his face.

Four years passed by and he's already this big.

Am I too sentimental? I didn't give birth to him, but it felt like I raised him. Cringey right?

''Richard, I have a question'' I said as I sat up and look into his gleaming face.

''You already asked'' he laughed

This kid just had to play Mr. Smarty Pants to me. Boy, you're still young.

''Do you love me?'' I asked

He then said yes as he nodded.

''You can only choose one. Mom or Dad?'' I asked the innocent kid

''Mom'' He said without giving it a hard thought.

''Me or Dad?'' Yes, I asked him

''Hmmmm... You!'' He said

''What about Me, your big brother or mommy?'' Yes, I asked. I'm petty so what?

''Mom!'' Of course, you can never win over mom.

I'm a bit disappointed though. I mean, I give him the candy.

After the fun conversation, we went downstairs in the dining area for our breakfast.

Mom and dad were already there. Rebecca isn't present, because she lives in the Imperial Academy dorms.

I will also be going there, because I will be attending as a first yeaf student in the Academy.

''Thanks for the food'' We said as we finished the meal.

''Raven, I want you in my study after this'' Father said as he got up.

''Okay father'' I replied

Richard went to play outside while mom went to the garden to embroider some handkerchief. It is her hobby.

After a few moments, I arrived infront of my father's study.

''Father, may I come in?'' I said as I knocked the door.

I saw father sitting on the couch and I sat on the couch opposite to him.

''Why have you called me?'' I asked

He got up and got something from his drawer.

''You are already sixteen, a good age to explore in life. This is the family heirloom. I am giving it, as I trust you'' he said as he gave me a sapphire necklace shaped as the sun.

''You're entusting this to me?'' I asked for confirmation

My father was so serious and proud at the same time.

''Did you ever wonder why it is a blue sun? It is because sapphires signifies hope and faith of its blue hue'' he said

''And the sun represents unwavering strength, perseverance, and leadership. This signifies our family's strength perseverse through its people's hope and faith on the Lord's leadership'' he added

I was too honored and thankful that I couldn't say a word.

''I pray for your safe journey of four years in the Imperial Academy'' My father said with a smile.

I went back to my room and packed my things in my bag. The maid wanted to do it for me, but I insisted that I wanted to do it.

''Raven, I'm coming in'' I heard my mother as she knocked on the door

She brought an embroidered handkerchief with my initials on it.

''Don't feel too lonely. We will miss you the same way you'll miss us. That way you won't worry too much'' mom said

''I'll miss you mom'' I said as I hugged her.

''What's this? Why didn't you invite me?'' little Richard said as he came inside the room.

''Are you really leaving tomorrow brother? Are you leaving like sister? Then wouldn't I not see you lately?'' he said with teary eyes as he ran to embrace me

''Your brother will visit during the holidays'' Mom comforted him

''How about we sleep together for one last time?'' I suggested

Richard nodded and a smile reappeared on his soft angelic face.

Night came and Richard slept in my room together with me.

After a few bedtime stories, Richard fell asleep.

I pray that he won't forget my and will be happy on my absence.

May mom and Dad always be healthy and youthful.

I hope school doesn't get the worst out of me.
