Raven's POV
I just woke up and everybody is already busy.
I went outside of my room and went downstairs to get breakfast.
''Big brother! You're late'' Richard ran to me and hugged my legs, clinging like a koala.
''Yes, I'm sorry for that. Let's eat for now'' I said as I picked up Richard and sat him on his chair.
''Where's Rebecca?'' I asked
''She's busy, she's getting ready in case the prince would visit'' mom said
''I hope that she'd be treated better. Being a royal in-law is such a bother'' father mumbled
''Duke, his highness has arrived'' the butler said as he alerted every single person in the mansion
We never know what trouble that prince will bring.
''Guide him to the tea room'' dad said
''I'll company him for the meantime, I am sure that Rebecca is still doing her makeup'' I smiled as I left to meet our guest
Claude's POV
A duke's mansion doesn't disappoint. The last time I came here, I was still five or something.
I really think she doesn't remember me, but it's better in that way.
It has been ten minutes since I have waited inside the tea room. Then, I heard the door opening.
''Have a seat my dear fiancée'' I said
''I'm Raven, her brother'' a manly voice is what I hear and as I turned, it was a male copy of Rebecca.
''Sorry if you expected something prince, my sister is still preparing due to your unannounced visit'' He said
''You may leave, I can wait by myself'' What an annoying brat
I told him to leave but he sat on the sofa across me.
Raven's POV
I really can't figure him out. What an annoyance.
''I'd like to ask you something'' I said as I sat down
''Go on'' Claude said
''My sister is still in the process of moving on from her last engagement taht was recently annulled. I suggest you back off'' I straightforwardly said
''Are you saying that your sister was wrong and had miscalculated'' Hr asked me
''Yes, I do'' I said firmly
''And who the heck are you to butt into my business'' He raised his eyebrow as he said this line
''Her brother'' I said with a smile
''Well, that's enough'' a voice was heard coming through the door as my sister walks inside the room
''Raven, could you step out for a moment?'' Rebecca asked
''But-" I was about to say something, but I was cut off
''It's okay'' Rebecca said
I glared at Claude and he gave me a smirk in return. I hate his guts.
Rebecca's POV
I sat across Claude and started the conversation.
''I think you should reconsider this engagement'' I said
''And why should I?'' he said
''Because it is too soon...'' I answered
''It's not like we're marrying tomorrow'' he smiled
''Your brother was my fianće'' I said
''That doesn't matter'' he rebuked
''I don't like you'' I said what I needed to say
''I'll make you like me, I'll even make you love me if I can'' He said to me as if he had done this a lot.
''Who are you to do that?'' I angrily said
I am not someone whom you can force to love. I also have feelings.
''You really don't remember me, huh'' he said it with a disappointed face
''I'll come back when the time is right. Tell me when you remember me'' he added as he stood up and went towards the door
Raven's POV
I can't believe I got left out of their conversation.
I went closer to the door, but I couldn't hear their conversation clearly.
I eavesdropped, but I couldn't understand a single sentence.
Suddenly, the doors burst open. I was umlucky enough to be hit with it.
I bumped my head on the door and fell on my butt as I landed.
''Ouch...'' I said as I slowly got up and saw the prince
''Eavesdropping won't do you any good'' he warned me with a serious face and left
''I suppose you are now leaving. Be careful on your way back Your highness'' I said with a fake smile.
The prince left and I mumbled something out of being annoyed.
''That jerk...'' I mumbled
Then, I went to see my sister who was still inside the tea room.
''Did I know him? What did he mean by remembering him before'' my sister mumbled words as she was confused
Huh? Did they have an encounter from the past? How mysterious...
