A Royal Visitation

Raven's POV

The entire Duchy of Rosevelt went to the palace for our audience with the royal family.

I clearly see that my sister is nervous and mad at the same time.

''It'll be fine'' I said as I reached towards her hand to calm her down.

''Thanks'' Rebecca said with a reassured smile on her face.

In the original story, she may have been lonely. Imagine dealing with this hardship all alone, but now she has us.

''This was never a simple matter to begin with'' Father said

''I promise to make you happy, Rebecca. You are my only daughter'' Our mother said with a serious face.

We went inside the castle and a knight guided us to meet his majesty, the King.

''Duke Rosevelt and his family comes in!'' The knight said as the guard opens the doors leading to the royal family.

We walked near them amd greeted.

''Glory and Prosperity to our motherland!'' We said our greetings as we kneel before the emperor, the empress and the second prince.

''Raise your heads'' the emperor said

''I have read the letter you sent to me Duke'' he added

''I assume that I clearly stated that the engagement will not happen'' Father was firm with his decision

''Then may I ask lady Rebecca to state the reason for the annulment?'' The emperor asked

''I don't want to live a life with another woman in my lover's arms'' Rebecca said as he looked directly at the prince's eyes

''What a joke, if you marry my son, you'll be crown princess. The Royal family always has a concubine or two. A lover is not that much of a problem'' The empress said with a laugh

''I will still not change my mind. Please annul the engagement'' Rebecca repeated

''If that's what you want, I'll just find another lady from a ducal household'' The prince said with a smirk

He might have made the decision to switch to another powerful family as his backing for the throne.

This may be humiliating for our family's reputation, but my sister is more important.

''By the way, you did not reject me. I rejected you'' the prince added

''As long as I get what I want'' my sister said with a calm voice

Rebecca's POV

It does not matter if people lable me as the one rejected by the prince or the wicked lady. For I, myself know that I was never wrong.

''If that's all, then we will announce the news tomorrow'' The king said

As soon as we were about to leave, the doors opened and all of us saw a man covered in blood.

He had golden hair and eyes that were radiant as the sun.

''I conquered the country down south. So, what will be my reward father?'' he said

So he is the first prince, Claude Zeke Vahler. He is the Captain of the Imperial Knights and is nineteen years of age.

''Do you not see that we have guests?'' The Empress said

''Oh isn't this Edward's fiamcee? Sorry for the appearance'' the prince smiled

''Not anymore'' Raven stated

''Surprising'' the first prince said

''Tell me what you want?'' the emperor asked

''How about her?'' he said as he pointed at me

''I'll take her as my fiancee'' Claude smirked as he left everyone in the room astonished and silent.
