Family Meeting

Raven's POV

It has been a few days since the incident happened. The Prince kept on asking for Rebecca to change her mind and reconsider the engagement, but my sister was firm after hearing my prophecy.

Violett had a nervous look whenever I see her pass by, since her beloved prince might not inherit the throne.

The First Prince is a genius in swordsmanship. He has been through countless battles and has been rewarded for his bravery. He is seen by the Emperor as his true successor, but he is not the Empress' child. 

The Empress gave birth to Edward and used connections and powerful backing in order to put him as a prince befitting of the throne.

It is still five in the morning, but my sister and I took a leave in order to go back home due to family problems (The Engagement with the Prince). We are ready to leave and we are just waiting for the carriage to arrive.

"Rebecca, I think you have made the right choice" I said to comfort my sister, as I saw her nervous face.

She already sent a letter to father, but we never know what his reaction will be.

"If I stayed, would anything change?" my sister asked with a face full of thought

"No" I strongly said

"You don't need to marry a man whose eyes are set to another woman" I added

"You're right" Rebecca said with a faint smile, but I could tell that she calmed down

The carriage arrived and we reached the dukedom after half an hour.

The servants took our luggage and we went inside the mansion.

"Raven, you're back!" familiar voices were heard from afar. Then, I saw the Bronze siblings coming from upstairs.

"Why are the little ones of the Bronze family here?" Rebecca asked

"Mom and Dad went to the countryside to manage our fief, Uncle and Auntie will take care of us for a few days" Emma said

"Where's Richard?" I asked

"He's still asleep" Erica said. Well, it is still six in the morning

"Why are you all up so early?" Rebecca asked

"Oh, we actually knew you were coming, so we came to greet you early. We tried to wake Richard up, but he's in deep sleep" Erica answered

"Auntie and Uncle are in his study. They told us to tell you to go there" Eric said

After the short conversation, we went to father's study and stood outside the door. The children went to eat breakfast, so they went downstairs.

Me and Rebecca exchanged looks before entering the room. I knocked on the door and we came in.

"How was your journey?" My father asked us 

"We are okay. We have just arrived and immediately came here" I answered

"Father! I am sorry for making a rash decision" Rebecca said as she suddenly kneeled

"Sister..." I said as I couldn't do anything, but I just don't feel that Rebecca is  the one that is wrong.

"Father! I don't think what my sister did was wrong. Please reconsider her engagement with the Prince" I said as I also kneeled together with my sister

"Goodness my child, stand up!" My mother said as she had a smile

"I never said you were wrong. I believe that you don't make decisions without giving it a second thought" Father stated

"My child, do tell me how the Prince wronged you?" Father asked with a calm voice, but I could feel that he was very angry

Rebecca told father that the Prince had another woman and does not mind her even though she is his fiancé. 

"I think we might have to talk to the Royal Family" Father said with a stern look on his face

I guess a father is still a father, no matter how strict he is, he always loves us.

The family had a discussion and father sent a letter to the Royal Family. A few days later, a reply arrived.

The contents of the letter said that there will be an audience with the King and our family.

The said appointment will be held after four days.

We made the first step into talking with the family, but we still don't know the Royal family's final decision.

All I can do for now is to hope that things will all go according to our plan.
