Chapter 15: ❤️Mikey❤️

((Next day))
Foxy P.O.V.
Mike came limping into work today.
"Mikey?" I asked him when he winced as he sat down. "Are you OK?"
Mike didn't respond. He just kind of flipped through the cameras for a second.
"I was a bit rough last night, wasn't I?" I asked shamefully.
Mike shrugged. "A little. But hey, it felt good while it still did and I'm OK now."
"Mike, I'm sorry." I sighed and sat in my usual place next to the guard. "Jeezus, does it hurt to walk that badly?"
He sighed. "Don't worry about me, Foxy. Rather, I'd like to know how you've been up to. You know, when I'm not around."
"M-me?" Huh. Nobody had ever decided to check in on me besides Cassidy and Mike. Even still, I had never been used to people asking me how I was doing. "I-I've been fine. There's really not much for me to do when you're not around and I'm not entertaining kids. Not like I'd really have any chance of doing that anyway, though." I shamefully thought back to the Bite.
"Don't worry, Foxy, Cassidy will repair you someday. I know it." Mike put a hand in my shoulder.
I sighed. "You know, for the past 20-something years Cassidy herself has told me the same thing. And yet..." I paused. "It still hasn't happened. And ya wanna know why?" Mike said he didn't know.
"Because it's not going to happen, Mike. I'm out of order for good. Cassidy might as well scrap me now and get it over with." A tear ran down my cheek. "She should just hurry up and do it. It'll give her extra cash to keep the place running, anyway."
"Foxy..." Mike put the camera down. "If the boss was gonna try to scrap you, she'd have to get through me first. I wouldn't let you go for anything. I love you. You're worth it enough to me for me to say with 100% truth in my voice that if you die, I would die too." He stood up and put both hands on my shoulders. "I told you I would never leave. I told you I'd love you forever. I meant all of that, Foxy." He held me close to him. "Don't get down on yourself like that, OK?"
I paused, tears filling my eyes to an entirety. "OK." I said through tears. I cried into his shoulder for a short time.
When Mike's shift was over, I left the office with some serious confidence. Cassidy happened to spot me.
"Hey, Mr. Swag Master." She grinned. "What's gotten into you?"
"Ohh, nothing." I grinned, heading down to my bedroom without a care in the world. "Mikey's just too damn sweet for my own good."
Cassidy snickered. "Watch your mouth, young man." She mocked.
I rolled my eyes. "Now I see why you opened this place." I remarked sarcastically. "You'd make a perfect parent."
Cassidy smiled. "You think you're so funny, Foxy. I'll leave you out of order for another 3 years, or at least until you can fix that bad mouth of yours." I scoffed.
"Where do you think I get it from?" I sighed and pulled back the curtain to the Cove. "Later." I entered my room silently.
I closed the door and slumped down onto my bed.
"Ahh, Mikey." I smiled, muttering to myself in my dopey fake pirate accent. "Ye be the best first mate I ever had..." I threw off my jacket and fell asleep.
