Author's note: Didn't want to draw her as a baby, so I drew her as a 12-year-old.... feh. I also added a drawing of Emily somewhere, maybe at chapter 6, if you want to find it you'll have to nose around a bit but whatever. You should be fine.

"Mandy..." I couldn't stop saying the word to myself as I spent another afternoon home with Emily.
"Mandy, Mandy, Mandy..."
Are you cheating on Mike or something? Emily's ghostly voice echoed angrily through my head.
"No, silly. She's the new baby." I turned to see Emily's grey figure standing in the doorway of the living room..
Right. Her gaze did not leave mine.
"I'm serious, Ems." I tried to calm her down.
Fine. I'll believe you... for now. She faded into most once again.
"Jeez." I muttered, standing up to get a drink. "She can be a real creep some times..."
I HEARD THAT. She re-materialized behind me, scraping the crap out of.me. I almost fell over.
"Emily I swear to doge knock it off!" I might've gotten a bit too angry at her.
"Can you go one day without listening in on everything I say and do?!"
Emily's ghost-grey eyes were suddenly cast down. My whole life I went without listening. You might as well let me do it now. She vanished.
"Cripes..." I muttered. "What was that all about?" I continued looking for something to drink.
TIME SKIP TO A WEEK LATER
Mike was finally ready to be released from the hospital. The boss gave me a ride to the hospital and back, and she actually wasn't too pissed off about it. She seemed... honored, almost. What a confusing woman.
" Hey, Mike," I pointed to his stomach, which had a tan mark down the middle of it. "What is that?"
"A scar." Mike shrugged, gently rocking Mandy in his arms. "It's from where they did the surgery on me, Foxy, it doesn't hurt at all."
"Good." I sighed with relief.
"Hey, Mike..." Cassidy began, "When will you be able to come back to work?"
"Eh, give it maybe two weeks before I can walk again." He shrugged, still refusing to let go of the baby.
"You can't walk?!" I asked, surprised.
"No," Mike sighed sadly. "Not for another two weeks, like I said. I'm afraid that surgery took away my ability to move around for a while."
"Aww, that's okay, Mike." I pat him on the shoulder. "I'll help you with the baby. Where's she gonna sleep?"
"My friend gave me her old crib for back when her kid was a baby." Cass responded from the front seat. "It's in the back. You'll have to help me get it in, though. Do I look like Superwoman to you?" She laughed. Quite honestly, with her orange hair and only slightly muscular figure I figured there'd be no way she ever would.
"Hey, isn't this it right here?" The boss soon pulled into the driveway of Mike's house.
"Yeah, that's it. Thanks for the ride." I helped Mike out of the car and carefully helped him and the new baby inside.
"Yo, Fox." Cass motioned for me. "Gi'back here, I need your help, remember?" I followed her to the back of the car and popped the trunk for her.
"Help me-oof-get this inside, will ya?" I picked up one end of the crib and Cass picked up the other. Holy shit. It was heavier than I thought.
"Jeezus, woman..." I backed into the living room carefully, trying not to hit Mike, who was standing to the side with a now waking Mandy. "This thing is heavy. How strong are you?"
The boss smirked cockily. "Strong enough to be considered Superwoman."
Mike couldn't help but laugh.
"Aight..." Cass set up the pin in no time flat. "That should be it."
"Wow..." I stared in awe. "That was fast."
Cassidy just smiled.
"I'll see you guys later, okay?" She turned to leave. "Good luck with the baby!"
"Thanks!" Mike and I responded. Mandy yawned.
"Aww, she's so cute!" I said after the boss had left. "Can I hold her, Mikey? Pleeeaaaaase?" I begged.
Mike rolled his eyes. "Oi vey, Foxy, you really are crazy. Yes, you can hold her, but only under one condition."
"Anything." I promised.
"Take that hook off, and the eye patch." He sighed. "I know you don't really like it, but that hook will kill her if you're not careful. You don't want us to have gone through nine months of hell for nothing, do you??" He questioned.
Damn it. I really didn't, but at the same time I felt weird taking the hook off...
"Fine." I gently pulled the hook off, revealing my immobilized hand. "There. Now let me hold her please."
Mike gently set the baby in my arms, showing me how to hold her properly at the same time.
"Wow..." I could do nothing but stare. She was so quiet for a baby. Believe me, I knew. I'd been around kids for more than 20 years of my life, you think I don't know how asininely loud those children could get?!
"Mike..." I could barely get the words off my chest. I still couldn't believe he and I had managed to pull this off, to have been able to have a child together.
"Yes, Foxy...?" Mike could barely speak as well.
"Mandy..." I tried to press on, my voice shaking slightly in the process. "I can't believe we did this. This is amazing.... Thank you." I gently kissed him. "Y-you've... made my life complete. I love you... so much...." I couldn't help but let a few tears roll down my cheek.
Mikey's eyes teared up slightly, too. "Foxy... you know I couldn't have done this without you. I love you too."
Honestly, at that point, nothing in my life could have made me happier. I had everything I could've every needed: Someone to love me, and someone we could love together. Some days I wonder what life would be like without them. My conclusion is this: Nowhere near as amazing as it is now.
