Ok what do u think of plato's edu system?

Plato education is being used nowadays that is..education for all..it's not being fix with any stage..because education is for body ,mind and soul

Correct it is being used by unesco...meaning everybody should deserve edu....thia relates to democracy in edu.

Plato's edu system is very holistic based on its 6 levels of curriculum. It is not just focusing to academic skill but also focused on the student's physical skill. For example, they started the Olympics and at certain age the people need to join army's training.

Good it is holistic although no religious edu being mentioned in the model. But they talked about values. Or moral

Yes I agree. Not as holistic as Islamic models

Plato education system not only focus on mind and physical, he also believed education should have interests and motivation to be learned

From my opinion, plato's edu system state that it was necessary to all citizens learn and be educated.. To maintain a balance state of life.. No discrimination between men and women, in education..

I agree with Ilyas. Because Plato explains that teaching should not necessarily be harsh on students bcause that can cause students to lose interest. Also learning indeed starts from a young age to cultivate interest and train them to know their respective talents

Plato education system is mostly being applied nowadays as his motto of "Education for all" which UNESCO and Malaysia took and improve from that. At that time, students aged 7-18 are separated by gender. There's few level of it, beginner, higher and highest level. Which in my opinion is similar to our educational system.

Although it was the responsiblity of the republic , they did focus on personal interest like sports , music n etc

From my opinion, plato sees education is a way to the permanent stability of the state .He starts to emphasize the importance of education in his ideal state. He obviously saw that education was more than acquiring of basic fact and ideas in one's childhood and adolescence.

True...ni discrimination but one unique thing about the edu system it asked boys n girls to be separated..it might be caused my status maybe ...noy so much on religion

The did start really n this is really interesting..if we were to compare with our history , they were far more advanced

Quite true...we can relate certain levels or maybe program in our edu system

As for plato's edu system, for him it is a life-long education, both educators and students learn new things, hence, the different stages of life where people learn different things in certain ways.

Plato's education system started in the time philosophy field was studied and spreaded and growing rapidly. Education system in pre school stage emphasized affective domain which was found moral values learnt at home. The primary school stage emphasized cognitive with affective domain where the students need to learn curriculum such as math, poem, music etc. Move on to the next stage which was army training, it emphasized on psychomotor domain with they had already have schemata and experience of cognitive and affective domains.

Agree...plato was really into philosphy so held that believe in developing the republic they need to have similar goals n he used edu as a tool.

For Plato, education are more than just learning in a classroom from youth to maturity. Instead, education was a life-long process and even adults could be trained and educated, then he created a system in which even adults were also trained for get education.

for me plato education is similar to islamic education

Human's needs in plato's education were fullfilled in different stages of this long-life education

Longlife learning is taught in Islam as well. Utlubul ilma minal mahdi ilal lahdi.

Good...u touched on values at a very young age...which is very interesting right....this system could be seen in the japanese edu system as well...affective domain to be taught at a very young as apart of edu system...it doest mean w edont have it...we do...but more informally

we can earn knowledge everywhere, everytime and even we are already getting old. Every people deserve to be educated..

Yup we can see the diff types of subjs being taught at diff level rite.....we can relate piagets view on cognitive dev stages on this. In islamic context we do have this as well

True...coz if we look at the levels of edu in plato system ...it should prepare them to become somebody in the society...so it is more on the outcome of edu...meaning the LOs

Yes madam. Islam also teaches us affective first.. Al adab qabla ilm = Moral virtues before knowledge.. Only then, the human beings are able to learn and develop their cognitive

Based on the both sexes should attend school, this is because each person have different role in society later on, everyone will contribute to the society, so everything starts with education at early age to become somebody in the future. With education, we can survive in this world 👍🏻

Yes because we need to follow the level of thinking ability and age of the students itself so that the learning can be well received

One of the interesting thing for me is, he believe that everyone deserves education since back in medieval era, there's discrimination on whom deserves education, it is also considered as some sort of privilege to certain social classes. This is so similar to Islamic view on education.

Yup true....many countries r applying this concept now bcoz it is a need actually in the society

Yes he did not discriminate against women in the right to seek knowledge

Agree with this...that s y we start with the western model 1st...coz later when we touch on islamic model it would show how perfect islamic models r coz we have our solid guideline

True the role of women have been stressed here as well...women were dominant and prominent during this time if we refer to history..although there were other issues as well ....

Just that try to note on plato , tyler, taba , stenhouse and spady...they have marked prominent transitions in the western edu...which can be refered closely to discoveries and dev in phsychology
