There are many importance of studying Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul Fiqh) throughout many fields.

In respect to to Halal Management, the first importance of studying Usul Fiqh is promoting tolerant widely expansive understanding regarding the rulings (ahkam) of Halal products. By studying how various scholars arrive to different stances using different sources on what can be considered to be a Halal product, prospective Halal managers and Halal executives would be able to respect other countries and societies of different schools of thoughts (madzahib fiqhiyyah) and customs (urf). This would prevent both students and professionals from being disrespectful, nor rash in making controversial viral statements that could be easily spread throughout the globe with a press of a finger. Thus, this understanding of different stances on Halal and Haram would safeguard the strong kinship (ukhwah) between Muslims and help each other grow.

Secondly, the next significance of Usul Fiqh in Halal management is ensuring that the public, students and professionals are able to identify authenticity of information. Due to the world wide social network phenomena on the internet, too many information are being spread around every single day. Anyone can claim that they are following a different madzhab, when in fact, they are upon a false basis. With Usul Fiqh, Muslims would be at ease knowing that they are practicing Islam and consuming Halal products with sound authentic sources. In addition, this would also help professionals to explain to the masses how the various sources such as Istishab, Istihsan, Aml ahl Madinah and so forth, are a mercy (rahmah) from Allah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim including in our daily Halal intake and wear. By being well versed in religious evidence (dalil), prospective Halal leaders who are adept on Usul Fiqh will be able to navigate and lead the community to stay upon the boundaries that Allah & Rasul have provided for us and gain the Pleasure of Allah.

Finally, the third necessity for studying Usul Fiqh in Halal Management is to build upon more streamlined global Halal Standards. By understanding and remembering that there are different madzahib, Halal standards would need to be based upon middle grounds between the many different opinions. For instance, even though only the cutting of the trachea (halqum) and oesophagus (mari') are obligatory (wajib) in the Syafie madzhab; in Halal Standards, both carotid arteries and jugular veins (wadajain) are needed to be cut as well. This would lead to leaders, scholars and professionals to take the best approach so that Halal products could cross countries and appeal to many Muslims and Halal enthusiasts regardless of madzhab and nationality. Hence, the entire Halal Industry itself will grow exponentially as even more Halal products whether they be food, cosmetics, medicine, apparel or more; would be geared for the Global Halal Market.

In conclusion, Usul Fiqh and Halal Management are like bread and butter. Indeed, Usul Fiqh undoubtedly plays a very important role in building and nurturing Professional Halal Managers and Global Halal Standards of the present and the future.
