The Muslims in Spain were majority when they controlled nearly all the Iberian Peninsula in Spain. The people living there are also Mozarab (arabized Christians), Christians, Jews, Berber, Moors living under the same country. A multicultural country: Yes.
So under Islam people can unite too.
