James Matthew Barrie

THE command lingered in James' consciousness—taking him a little more than a minute to grasp what he was told to do so.

"Snap out of it lad!"

After consciousness came back to James, he hurriedly went out the building, brisk walking his way through the massive cloud of people busily walking and selling essential goods.

The slow drumbeat in James' head was modulated as a huge horse carriage galloped in front of him—forcing a couple of boxes on its back storage to fall out of the cart—crashing into the moist and rocky ground of the square.

Heaps of apples and small pumpkins went rolling across the feces filled ground of the market.

"Aye, you foozler pick all those apples and pumpkins up!" the old man riding the carriage shouted with his arms flapping in the air in anger.

"Ah, this was due today immediately you vazey..." James heard the man sigh. "Mrs. Thompson's going to give me a ton of scolding today because of you. Come on, speed up!"

"Ya, scurry out of the way already or else I'll really run over you." the man said, before climbing up his carriage.

"Shoot, I have to run," he said, sprinting in haste across the square.

Losing track like that was dangerous, specially with the situation Mr. Darling was in as of the moment.

"Mrs. Darling," he said, treading a huge step over the side of the lady to cross to the other side of the kitchen.

He rummaged a clean piece of towel in the kitchen cupboards, and run into the backyard to pump some water out the water pump into a clean bowl.

With the water and towel he scavenged, James slowly wiped the white foam off of Mrs. Darling's mouth, and turned her to one side to elevate her breathing.

"Everything will be alright Mrs. Darling," he said. "Hang in there."

After attending to Mrs. Darling, James quickly run up the stairs to go wake Wendy in her room.

It has been three days since James last saw the face of his best friend and he sure do miss Wendy.
