Wendy DarlingDear Journal,
The humidity in the air was suffocating as a long awakening cry from two boys in the attic of this treehouse they transferred us to echo in the woods.
I can feel the vibrating impulse of scurrying and pounding feet on thin wood. I can't take it any longer.
Just this morning, I ate breakfast with John and Michael. The boys were excited about the adventure this Peter Pan planned for them. They said, "Wendy, Wendy!" while jumping up and down.
I held John's shoulder to stop him from moving so I could speak.
"Where is he taking you?" I said to John in gritted teeth.
"We're meeting the Indians in the forest. Peter said they'll tour us around and eat with us for dinner."
My stomach felt like a hurricane when John said these words.
Indians?
I was mesmerized by the beauty of the forest, forgetting the peril lurking around me.
"Come," a high pitched and eerie voice came swiftly like the wind.
"Oh, beautiful girl your worries are with us," the voice said.
"We'll show you the way."
"We'll help you."
I was sleepwalking in the calmness of each whisper in my ear, when I halted in front of a pool in the middle of the forest.
I knew the water was deep because of how the blue-green color it illuminated.
"Ah, such beauty you are," the girl said, looking intensely in my eyes with her white-colored eyes almost like ice—silvery blue.
"What are you?" I asked.
The mysterious girl stretched her webbed hand forward towards my direction saying, "We'll help you, girl. We'll show you the way out."
"Wait!" I shouted, calling for her to come back.
She turned around and swam underneath the depths of the pool, revealing to me her beautiful green tail. The scales were reflecting rainbows of colors as the light struck on it.
"You wanted to escape?" he said in a low voice.
"You're a naughty girl, ha?" he said in a husk tone, trying to sound seductive yet it sounded sinister to me.
The act sent fires of goosebumps in my back as he looked at me with so much adoration.
"You know, they'll only drown you to death, right?" wika niya sabay tapik ng payapang lawa.
The touched sent waves of circles on top of the water—like fireworks cascading in a grand finale night.
"I better get you home."
"Why are you doing—" I wasn't able to finish what I was saying because he manhandled me like I was paper and carried me on his shoulder.
"Put me down!" I screamed in desperation and shock, making him angry.
He tried to make me quiet but I was too scared and surprise to hear, making him lost his temper and punching me in the stomach.
I was knocked out for a couple of hours and was woken by countless cries from outside my bedroom door.
I know whom these voices were from, but I don't want to admit it. I don't want to clear this to myself or else I'll get crazy.
"Wendy!
"Michael." I choked on my words, trying to cover my mouth and stop myself from sobbing too loud.
"What d-do you want?" nanginginig na tugon ko.
"It's alright. I'm here," he whispered.
