Prologue

    There was a time when an individual wasn't prohibited to live their life. I can't remember the last time I truly lived, truly felt an emotion other than insincere elation. We are a town, a village, a community, a country, a state, a city, call us what you want we remain isolated from others.  However, there are rumors that if you make it to the border you'd have a chance to cross over.

    They watch us Rebellions closely. The government thinks they have everyone under control including us. How wrong they are we've just become increasingly well at cheating every part of the system. We have a marking, a symbol of what we stand for. Each and every one of us have it. A melting peace sign with the quote "Peace is melted by the fire of society's arrogance."

    We Rebellions stand out with our tattoos and piercings. Grungers is what the workers call us as they examine our every move making sure none of their precious rules are broken. We are rule breakers they are just unaware of it, they are as blind as the ones taking the pathetic pills. Bliss is fairly new so of course it'll be awhile before they have perfected their evil plans to transform us. A utopian society? Maybe, or perhaps they just want to distract us from the truths they hide, all of their mysterious secrets. The rules go as:

1.)    Never skip Bliss. Bliss must be taken every day otherwise punishable by law and possible elimination.

2.)    Do not stay out after curfew. A legitimate reason to stay out after curfew must be presented to a government worker and must be permitted by them. If violated punishable by law and possible elimination.

3.)    Bliss can and will be adjusted to the correct dosage to fit everyone correctly so the proper effect can be taken place.

4.)    At the age of forty you will be eliminated. If Bliss has not been taken or does not have an affect government workers will proceed to do so themselves. Body will also be removed by workers. 

5.)    Everyone will be assigned a specific job according to their abilities at the age of twenty. Everyone must report to work at eight o'clock and must return home by curfew. To not attend work, unless permitted by worker, will be punishable by law and will result in elimination. You are to not speak about your jobs with other individuals otherwise punishable by law.

6.)    Drugs and alcohol are punishable by law and possible elimination if found in your presence.

7.)    Intimate contact is prohibited until the age of twenty-five to thirty. At this point you have permission to have one child with your spouse and one only. Any more will result in removal of child. A new born must be brought to the day care every day to the age of four for their dosage of bliss.

8.)    Anyone not taking bliss will be assumed a Grunge/Rebellion and will automatically be eliminated.

9.)    No one leaves. Elimination will happen

    Now how do you live in a society full of lies and secrets? A society in which you can no longer live, no longer feel, but are very well alive. I'll tell you how, you don't.
