MEETING..

Nakaupo kami pareho ni Ani sa sofa ng opisina ko. Ako nakatingin sa malayo, at siya nakatingin sa akin.

“Why did you called him?” tanong ko sa kanya.

“To make you both realize that you have different lives now,” sagot niya.

Ouch. Ang sakit.

“Yung sa inyo, it’s just simply impossible. You need to move on," sabi niya.

And I can’t even complain because he is right.

“Randolf wants another date with you,” sabi niya.

“I, I can’t do this. You know that.”

“Just, just try. Try to work it out. You made an impact to him Kareng. He’s never been interested with girls. Never. But he called me to ask you out again. He’s a great guy Kareng.”

“I know, that’s why I can’t.”

“I already told him about your situation and he said okay lang. He said he just want to try to make it work with you. Isn’t that beautiful?”

Napatingin ako kay Ani.

“Someone out there wants to accept you as whole, even if you’re not whole yet. Someone out there wants to try to make you happy. He’s a really great guy gurlalo. Kung babae lang talaga ako atsaka may ganyan akong mukha,” he said pointing at my face. “Magpapakasaya ako sa buhay ko dating guys however I like.”

“Ani..”

“Just try being happy, please?”

Hindi na ako nakasagot.

ALMOST TWO WEEKS ko ng di nakikita si Khy. It’s because we don’t have reasons to meet. And I decided to date Randolf.

“Medjo late ako right? Sorry Ran,” I said as soon as I arrived at our table.

He smiled at me.

“Nah.. I can wait longer," he said.

How sweet..

Bigla niyang inilahad ang kamay niya sa harap ko.

“Ano yan?” tanong ko.

“Phone. Let’s exchange our numbers.”

Napatawa ako. Ilang beses na kami nag-date pero hanggang ngayon wala pa kaming number sa isa’t isa. I handed him my phone and he handed me his.

Then we ordered our food and waited. And then nung dumating na, ay kumain na kami. We talked and talked for hours.

Then as I watched him laughing infront of me, napangiti ako.

I feel like I can do this. I think I can finally move on. I think it’s possible if it’s him.

“Bakit?” tanong niya nung napansin niya akong nakangiting nakatitig sa kanya.

“Nothing," I just said.

Nginitian niya ako. He has sparkly eyes, na para bang enjoy na enjoy siyang kasama ako. And I love the sound of his laugh. It makes me feel powerful, because it’s me, who’s making him laugh.

“You know I can’t promise you anything,” I said.

Napatingin siya sa akin.

“I know. I just want to try this with you, this dating thing. And if it doesn’t work out, I’ll happily let you go.”
