Lunox’s Point of View
I’m in the clinic. I’m guarding Gusion. I’m wating for him to wake up. Our plan succeeded. Onto the next step. “He’ll wake up by now,” said the nurse. I nodded as a response. “Lu!” I covered my ears. Pharsa’s voice was really loud. If her voice was a gun, I’ll be shot straight at the head. I placed my index finger on my lips. “Shh,” I said. She covered her mouth and formed a peace sign.
“You are the woman, Lu! You easily defeated Holy Blade,” she stated. I shrugged. If only you knew, Phars…
“He’s like an angel when he’s asleep. Look at his face, he’s really good-looking. He has a feature and built of a model! I wished he was like this when he’s also awake. Do you know that Gusion is one of university crush of the whole school? If we were just like any other school, Gusion already has many fans. I mean he already had fans, but in secret.”
“So? What will I gain if I know all of these?” I asked. She pouted. “Just saying! You are a total kill joy, KJ for short.”
It became silent. I looked at Pharsa. She wanted to tell something. “Spill,” I said. She sighed. “Ugh! Why are you great at reading thoughts? You immediately knew I had something to say.”
“You and Sele had a fight. It’s been a day. You ignored each other. Sele’s ignoring me too! I do not know what you two quarreled about. I’m just worried as your friend. Talked to each other and clear the misunderstanding. Here., I packed you a lunch. Eat this. I’m still busy. Bye, Lu!” She said. I waved at her. The truth is I and Selena were not friends anymore. It will never be the same again. She’s working for Mask Man; I knew because I have heard her conversation with him. It’s so obvious. By teaming up with Gusion, I assured that we will succeed no matter what.
Someone touched my forehead. I grabbed his hand and held it tighter. “Ah shvt! It’s me, Lu. How can you be so strong? I just wake up and you want me to sleep again. Seriously?” It’s Gusion. I thought it’s someone else. “My reflexes, sorry.” I apologized and released his hand.
“What happened?” He asked. I smiled. “It’s a success. All of them were shocked and they didn’t expect that you’ll lose or not able to put up a fight on me. Knowing you, it’s difficult to knock you down easily,” I said. “I expected that you’ll knock me down, but what trick did you do? I don’t have fvcking idea! I can’t move my body. The moment I looked in your eyes, I can’t look away,” he said. I laughed. “It’s a drug. While we’re fighting, I simply put the drug on the blade of the knife. Remember when I switched the knife on my left hand? That’s the time I put the drug. When you defended yourself upon my attack and came contact with the knife, you were already drugged.” I explained.
“Dvmn it. I thought I was a goner. Don’t do that again,” he said. I laughed again. “Don’t let anybody discover that you used a drug because that is cheating. Let them think that you used some witch craft shvts.”
I nodded. “Duh. I won’t tell anyone. Even I know that,” I said. “The news must spread by now especially to the old man,” he said. I gave him a confused look. “Speaking of your old man. Who is he? I know that he’s mask man but you didn’t tell me who he is,” I said. He smirked and gave me a teasing look. Uh oh. “You will not tell me, will you?!” I exclaimed.
“You will know soon. You’ll be surprise, I swear.” He said. I leaned on the chair. “I’m curious. I want to know who he is! You know that I’ve been searching him all my life. I want to avenge my parents already. I can’t fool around when it comes to him. I want to crush him already,” I said. He touched my hair and messed it. “Gusion!” I mentioned his name and gave him an annoyed look.
“Patience, Lu. If I tell you now, the plan might fail. Knowing you, you’re sometimes reckless and stubborn. I’ll tell you soon. Trust me for now, okay?” He said. I pouted. “Fine,” I admit defeat.
“That’s my girl,” said Gusion and patted my head.
“Ehem,” interrupted someone. I turned around and saw Leomord standing in front of us. I distanced myself from Gusion and sat properly.
“Leo,” he called out. Leomord sat on the empty seat. “What are you up to now?” He asked. Gusion smirked. “I can’t keep it a secret when it comes to you. How did you know?” Gusion asked back.
“I know you for fvcking six years, Gus. I know what you think, what do you like and dislike, and the way you act. It’s also because I’m your friend. I don’t know what are you up to and dragged Lunox in it but be careful. The man you’re against is not a joke. He’s dangerous, very dangerous. You can fvcking die!” Leomord said. Gusion gave him a bored look. “I know from the start, yet no one dares to stop him. Not even the fvcking cops and the government! They’re turning a blind eye at him. He had killed many innocent people. Through the years, I just watched him kill those people without mercy. I’m sick of it. I don’t want to turn a blind eye. What makes me different from the government if I just let him be?” He asked.
Leomord stood up and tapped his shoulder. “You’ve finally grown up, dude. You are not a coward anymore. You gave your position to me even though it will put your life at risk. I respect you; you know that. If you need a helping hand, I’m just here,” said Leomord and pointed himself. I envy these two. Their friendship is unbreakable. They must have felt that I became silent. Leomord suddenly touched my head and messed my hair. I’m getting pissed again. “I just met you, Lunox but I know you’re a good person. Gusion treated you as his friend. If your friends with Gusion, then, I’m your friend too.”
Leomord looked at his watch. “It’s already time. I have to go now. Take a rest, Gus. You two don’t need to attend class. You can go home if you like,” said Leomord and left the room.
“I envy you two. He’s a true friend.” I said. Gusion pinched my cheeks. “Aw! What are you doing?”
“Don’t think too much. Leo’s correct. I treat you as a friend so Leo’s also your friend now. You have gained a new friend.” He said. He removed his hand on my cheeks. Thank you.
Gusion reached a wallet placed on the empty seat where Leomord sat.
“That’s Leo’s wallet,” I blurted out. “It probably must have fallen when he sat down earlier. We have to give it back to him,” he said. He tried to stand up but I stopped him. “I’ll give it back. You need to rest. Let me. This is a sign to pay you back for what I did.” I said. He smiled again. I just noticed, he smiled often since the day we knew each other’s back story.
“Okay. Come back soon,” he said. I stood up and left the clinic. I searched for Leomord. I hope I could catch up to him. Then, I saw his back at the hallway. I was about to call his name when someone pulled his arm and forcedly dragged him in a room. I followed him. Is somebody trying to attack him? I know he can handle himself but he is Gusion’s friend. I still need to confirm that he’s alright and unharmed.
I placed my ear to the door. I listened to them.
“It’s confirmed. Lunox is working with Gusion,” reported Leomord. My forehead creased. Is he also a spy? I shook my head. They have been friends for almost six years. Impossible. Besides, Gusion trusts him so much.
“What now?” My eyes widened. I know that voice very well. It can’t be…
It’s Selena. Leomord and Selena are the eyes of Mask Man. I clenched my fists. I can’t trust anyone in this school except Gusion. He’s the only person I can fully trust.
I’m sorry, Gusion, but I can’t treat Leomord as a friend because he’s working under Mask Man, the man who killed my parents. If they get in my way, I don’t care if they were once my friend or foe. I’ll eliminate them all at once.
I moved away and left Leomord’s wallet on the ground beside the door.
