Lunox’s Point of View
“Lu!” Pharsa mentioned my name as she shaked me. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. “What’s the time?” I asked. “It’s 8:45 p.m.” She responded. The bus stopped. “Off we go! We’re here now,” said Pharsa.
All of us stood up and got off the bus. “Get your own bags!” Odette announced. I whistled. It will be embarrassing if they knew I forgot mine. “Let’s get our baggage now, Lu,” said Pharsa. “Huh? I didn’t bring any baggage,” I blurted out. “Eh?! How about your clothes?” She asked. “My brother’s here. Let’s go meet him after you got your bag,” I said. Her eyes twinkled. “I’ll go get my bag now!” She said. I scratched my head. Is brother that handsome?
“I got my bag. Let’s go meet my future husband—I mean, your brother.” She said. I gave her a disgusting look. “I don’t want you to be my sister-in-law.” I said. She pouted. “Meanie!” She reacted. On our way to the entrance, a tour guide greeted us with a flashlight on her hand.
“Hi! Welcome to Camp Royalwood Forest!” She said. “We’re tired. Cut the introduction. Where should we set a camp?” Odette asked. Leomord leaned forward. “I apologize for my classmate’s rudeness. However, she has a point. We want to rest first,” said Leomord.
“I see. You must be tired on your trip. My name is Rose. You can call me Miss Rose. I’ll be your guide and guardian besides your adviser. You don’t need to set a camp because we have cottages and cabins for you to stay. The teachers and the staffs will stay at the cottages while the students will stay at the cabins. The cabins have an aircon, two beds, one bathroom, a television, small kitchen, small dining table and the bedrooms are located at the top floor. The school director told me that two students per room because our cabin has two beds. A man and a woman cannot be together in the same room. We have a list of who’ll be your room mates. To make it fast, I’ll announce it along the way,” explained Miss Rose.
“Harith and Lancelot,” she announced. Harith and Lancelot bump fists. Pharsa clings on my arm.
“Leomord and Gusion,” she added. The whole class reacted. I tilted my head. I hope they’ll be just fine. After she announced the list of the boys in our class. She then announced for the list of the girls that will be roommates. “Pharsa and Selena,” announced Miss Rose. She suddenly removed her arms on mine. “What?! That would be awkward,” she uttered to herself. I patted her head. “You have talked to her before. You can do it again and she has nothing against you. You’ll be fine. She’s also your friend, you should not ignore her. I don’t want you to choose between the two of us. It’s our problem, you’re not involve so don’t be bothered. I’ll fix our misunderstanding but for now, our focus is the Intramurals Sports,” I said. She clings her arms to my arms again. “Okie dokie,” replied Pharsa.
“Odette and Nana.” Miss Rose announced. I looked beside me. I saw Nana’s expression changed. She gulped. “I-I’m dead…” I heard her whispered. “Ruby and Lunox,” she announced. Ruby? All of a sudden, someone placed an arm across my shoulder. I glanced at the left and saw Ruby. “We’re roommates, Lu! Sorry, Pharsa,” she said and formed her hands into a peace sign. Pharsa pulled me towards her. “Hmp. You just got lucky, Ruby.” She stated. Ruby pulled me towards her. “I’m her roommate now,” said Ruby. Pharsa pulled me once more. These two… is getting on my nerves. I’m getting pissed. Before they could fight, I slipped away from their touch.
All of our classmates went ahead and they’re far from our sight. We were left behind. I left the two and tagged along with the others. Miss Rose told us which cabins each pair belong to. Our cabin is located in the corner side. When we arrived at our own cabins, Miss Rose bid good-bye to us because we need to rest and gain strength. I checked the cabin. It’s quite simple, not too elegant and grand. Simplicity as its finest.
