I slowly opened my eyes when I heard the sound of my alarm clock it was 05:00 in the morning the time I usually got up to prepare for class during school days. I got my phone and switched of the alarm then stared at Chard who was fast asleep, I smiled to myself as I remembered the fun night we had this was the kind life I wanted, waking up to such a hunk every morning.
I got out of bed wore one of his T-shirts and started cleaning up, I wanted to impress him, he was exactly what I needed in a man: rich, handsome, smart, great in bed I mean with a man like him, what more would I desire?
I first set my eyes on chard a few months ago when he spoke at my University's previous graduation, the moment I heard him talk that day, I knew he had to be mine one way or another. I did a little research on him and discovered he was single then I thought of ways I could get close to him.
When I approached his company for attachments a lot of my colleagues said I wouldn't get the place even my lecturers said I didn't have a chance there but I was so persistent till Maria angrily allowed me to meet him.
"You just never give up do you? I will allow you twenty minutes of his time at least so he can tell you in your face that we don't allow interns in this company" Maria had told me the other day.
I thought talking to Chard would be difficult like most people told me but no I just had to play my cards right. I was o proud of the fact that I not only got myself a chance to work close with him but also to share a personal relationship with him, I would make sure to do right and impress him in every way possible so he would marry me, my clock was ticking I needed a man to settle down with and Chard was perfect in every way. He would provide for me both financially and emotionally.
It wasn't hard to clean up his house because it was smart unlike most guys' houses I had visited. His sitting room was filled with photos of an older woman not too though so I assumed she was his mother because I had seen a similar photo on his office the other day, the other photos where of two other ladies and a little girl.
"Maybe he has a child" I thought to myself as I dusted off
I couldn't wait to hang my photo in there as well, just close to his. I finished off cleaning and prepared us some breakfast then I went to wake him up but his bed was empty, it was already spread and a grey suit with a white shirt was neatly placed on top of it.
I knew he was bathing so I undressed myself so I could join him but as I was about to open his door, he got out.
"Baby morning" I greeted grinning
"Baby?" he asked with shock on his face
"I prepared us some breakfast but let me take a quick shower"
"Oh you can take your shower from downstairs I don't allow women in my bathroom you people can be so messy"
"I am not just any woman Chard"
"My bathroom is out of bounds Nora"
"Fine" I said walking away feeling hurt
"Nora" he called out as I was opening his door
"Yes"
"Next time lease don't wear any of my T-shirts" he said and continued getting dressed.
I took a quick shower in the bathroom downstairs then applied lotion and changed my clothes, I wore a red pencil skirt and a white top then walked out and found him sipping some wine.
"Let's get going" he said carrying his suitcase
"Won't you at least eat what I have cooked for you?"
"You can pack the food and eat on your way out because I am running late"
"And you?"
"It's too early for food Nora"
I got my bag and he locked the door, I was expecting him to open the door for me but instead he got into the driver sit and waited for me to get in.
"Are you coming or not?"
"Oh sorry" I responded and got into the car
I thought he was going to drop me off at home but instead he dropped me at the Taxi rank and gave me some money for my Taxi. I felt humiliated as if he was paying me for sleeping with him but I took the money and walked away.

I walked into my office whistling, I greeted a few people before getting into the elevator, when I got to my office. Maria was already there typing.
"Morning sir"
"Morning Maria" I said and walked into my office
A few minutes later, she barged in as if she owned the office
"Don't you know how to knock?"
"Where were you last night?"
"Maria! Give me a break, I don't owe you any explanations besides I pay you to work and if that is becoming hard for you to do then I will have to let you go" I said with the most serious face.
"I am sorry, it won't happen again, you need to go through this and sign it before 10:00"She said handing me a report then she walked out
Gosh Maria needed to get her life back on track, hanging over me like that wouldn't work and I just had a plan that would make her back off.
I started going through the report she gave me when I received a text from Nora
"Hey baby I had a great night, can we do dinner again tonight, my treat?"
"Boring" I thought to myself before deleting the text, what was with all the baby talk, she was too jumpy for my liking I doubt I would see her again outside the office.

"Maria can you please make sure the board room is set for the meeting at 14" I told her when she came to collect the reports.
"I will be on it sir"
"Are you still upset about this morning?"
"No I am just trying to do my job" she replied while facing down
"You see Maria, sometimes you over react, how many times have we been together for you to allow petty issues come in between us?"
"It's nothing really Chard I just wish you could give me a little bit of attention, sometimes you treat me like an outcast, I don't even know what to believe about us"
"Do you believe in us?"
"Of course I do and that's the reason I have been by your side all these years"
"Let me make it up to you, have dinner with me tonight"
"Really, can I also get to spend a night at your place" she asked excited
"Yes you can"
"Thank you so much baby" she smiled
My day was hectic because of the management meeting I had, I had the meeting with different department managers just to assess how their Departments had been performing the last six months and by the time I was getting done, all I needed was some beer and some good sex to sooth my soul, I was glad I had patched things with Maria, she would come in handy later in the evening.
"I will pick you up later" I perked Maria as I was about to leave the office, after she left my office I packed my suitcase closed my office and walked out.
I called mum just to check up on her as I was driving home.
"I hope you haven't forgotten we have plans for this weekend" She said
"I still remember that, can I invite Maya though?"
"So you two can turn the place upside down?"
"Ah mama, we are not kids anymore, we do behave now"
"Okay as long as you are present then its fine"
After talking to Mum, I called my twin sister Maya and we talked a bit, she promised to come by the next day so we could have lunch.
I love being a twin, I don't know what I would do without Maya, she is my better half , a part of me, despite her being a woman we are very close and I tell her almost everything about me just like she does tell me everything about her.
I am very close with my elder sister Olivia because she still treats me like a little boy, always bullying me around, she is married and has one child Zoe, one little girl I adore so much.
When I got home I went straight to take a bath, afterwards I got ready to go out I wanted to take Maria for dinner then later take her for the movies. As I was locking the door I heard the gate open so I turned to check who it was and surprise, surprise it was Nora.
"Hey baby" she said smiling
"Nora can you stop babying me and what are you doing here?"
"Well since you didn't reply to my text I thought I should just come over, I also brought us some supper"
"You must be kidding me"
"No I am being real, are you heeding out?"
"Yes Nora so please find your way out" I said
"I can always wait up for you"
"No Nora, I don't leave strangers in my house"
"Are you for real, I am a stranger now?"
"Nora don't get any crazy ideas it was just sex and nothing else, I didn't say I wanted a relationship with you, the sooner you realize this the better"
"How could you do this?"
"What did I do? We are both adults it's not like I forced you to do anything"
"Chard I love you and I swear I won't give up on you"
I burst out laughing the minute she mentioned love, like she had known me for three seconds and now she was claiming to be in love, gosh some women are too dramatic for my life.
She walked out on me when I was laughing, I finished locking up, got into my car and drove off to Maria's house.

"Nora! Don't get crazy ideas, it was just sex and nothing else" those words hurt me deeply, how could chard have been so insensitive as to bluntly tell me it was just sex. If he thought I was going to give up on him then he was so wrong because I was more than ready to pay any price to have him as my husband, no matter what Chard just had to be mine. Instead of going home I got into a Taxi and waited for Chard to drive out then I instructed the driver to follow him.
We followed him all the way to where he was going till he finally parked at a blue gate at one of the flats in Long acres, we packed just a few meters from where he packed since they were a lot of cars, he didn't notice us.
After a few minutes a lady got out and they hugged before getting into his car. It was that Maria girl his secretary so he was having an affair with her? Maybe she was his girlfriend.
"No wonder she had been so hostile towards me the other day" I thought. But if she was his girlfriend, I would have known or heard about it because I got my information about him from highly recommended sources and no girlfriend was mentioned.
"I will deal with that girl" I mumbled as the driver dropped me of at my place, I paid him his money and walked into my apartment.
"Girl you are back so early? My roommate Nicole asked when I got in
"Can you imagine that Chard ai? Telling me it was just sex and I should forget him he kicked me out making me feel like a homeless puppy"
"You see from your behavior you sure do look like a homeless puppy" she laughed
"But Nicole ai, is that all you can say? So you support his behavior?"
"Why don't you just forget about this guy? You have been obsessing about him for long and now that he had sex with you, it's clear he wants nothing from you, save yourself some more embarrassment walk away now before it's too late"
"That's your problem Nicole you just can't support me on anything huh?"
"Nora, you are my friend I can't allow you waste your life all in the name of wanting to settle down"
"He must marry me Nicole and I promise you he will"
"Okay if you say so" she said and continued watching her movie
I rolled my eyes at her then walked to my room to think about how I was going to make Chard fall for me.
