"Please Nicole please I need to see you"
"Nicole, please answer me, I am desperate here"
"Nicole are you there? You keep reading the texts and ignoring, why are you treating me like this"
"Nicole, Nicole, I can't think properly"
The texts kept flooding my phone. It was three days after Nora had spent the night at my place and Carlos was back.
"Who keeps texting you?" Carlos asked as we watched soccer
"Just some work group, let me put the phone on vibration" I said as I picked up my phone and blocked Chard's number. Immediately I blocked him, my phone rang I looked at Carlos before answering it.
"Pick up your phone or switch it off, its quiet irritating" he said
I stood up and picked it up because cutting the call would bring a lot of suspicions.
"Yes what can I do for you?" I asked as calm as possible
"I need to see you, I have to see you"
"That is not possible I can't work on it this time it's late besides I am spending time with my hubby"
"Demit must you always mention him?"
"Yes I have to"
"I am at your gate and if you don't want me to cause havoc please come outside"
"I promise to work on it tomorrow, tonight is impossible, please understand"
"You are sure you will see me tomorrow?"
"Yes I will work on it I will get back to you when I look into it"
"Hope you won't let me down"
"I promise I will do my best not to let you down"
"Okay please unblock me"
"Okay pleasant night" I hang up before he could say anything else, I took a deep breath as I got back to my seat and Carlos was now looking at me.
"What?" I asked
"Nothing"
"Oh that was my boss, he wanted me to work on a proposal for Dynalab but I said I would do it tomorrow"
"You don't have to explain yourself"
"I wanted to" I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck
"That's why I love you" he responded kissing my forehead then moving to my lips, we slowly started kissing, when the kiss got heated, he picked me up as I wrapped my legs around his waist, he took me to the bedroom and put me on the bed without breaking of the kiss, as he was trying to take off my leggings I got back to my senses and pulled out.
"Did you have to ruin the moment?" he asked hitting my dressing table
"I am sorry Carlos I can't do it"
"This is so frustrating Nicole how long will I have to wait?"
"We have talked about this Carlos, if you want me to give myself to you then let's get married"
"Whatever" he said walking out of the room
"Carlos" I called out trying to rush after him, he didn't respond but just took his phone and car keys and walked out.
"Carlos! Don't go" I pleaded with him but my pleas fell on deaf ears because he drove out right in my eyes.
I went back in my house called mum and afterwards went to sleep, how could I make Carlos understand how important I treasured my cookie, I wanted to keep it for him, for our wedding night, why was he suddenly getting so impatient?

The past three days Chard had been coming in and out of the office without saying anything or doing much work, I could see he was pretty much pre occupied with God knows what, I had to know which woman was taking him away from me because this time I felt him slipping off for good.
"Ba Jacob, nimikwatila inchito naimbi" I said when I called him
"Atshani ninani ulekuchusha nomba?"
"I just want you to follow Chard around for the next two weeks, keep track of the places he goes too, who he visits, how long he stays at a certain place, just all those little details then hand me the report when the two weeks elapses"
"Is that all?"
"Yes" "Consider it done"
"Okay I will be waiting, natotela" I said hanging up the call

"What are you doing to me Nicole?"I asked staring at her photo
For the past few days I had known her my life had taken a drastic change, I couldn't think of anything else but her, I had been drinking too much lately hoping to get over what I was feeling but to no avail and my work load was also getting affected, I had to do something to get over her.
"I am going out for some fresh air lock up in case I don't come back" I said to Nora as I left the office, I felt suffocated I need to breath, I need to see her.
"Chard you still haven't reviewed the reports I emailed you" Nora said
"I will work on them some other time"
"You have been saying that for the past few days"
"Nora, get a life, concentrate on what we pay you to do and stop pestering me"
"Okay" she answered looking defeated
Immediately I left the office I called Nicole,
"Can't you just leave me alone?" she asked after picking up
"Afternoon to you too my lovely lady"
"I am someone's wife you know?"
"And yet you insist on being called Miss Kabuswe?"
"God what do you want Mr. Kapambwe?"
"I want to see you, even just for a second"
"I am working"
"I can come over"
"No don't come over, I am busy"
"Please, I am on my knees"
"I will get back to you" I sighed
"I will be waiting" I said before dropping the call
I was thinking of telling Carlos about Chard maybe he would know how to put him in his place, but where would I even start from?

I decided I was actually going to tell Carlos about Chard Pestering me so it wouldn't backfire back on me.
"Baby I am sorry about last night, please come over, I have something important to tell you" I hit send and waited for a reply but didn't get any, I tried calling but his line took me straight to voicemail.
"Gosh Carlos where are you when I need you the most?" I thought as I packed my bag so I could go home.
After I finished packing, I locked my office and walked out, as soon as I reached the reception I saw Chard talking to the receptionist, I was almost going back but I bumped into a flower pot and it fell causing everyone to notice my presence
"Oh there you are darling, this man was just asking for you" The receptionist said
"Oh thank you Tamara, I will attend to him now" I answered as I handed her the keys
I walked outside without saying a word to Chard as he followed me behind.
"What sort of stupid sick game is this huh?"
"I needed to see you and this is the only way I could do it"
"Fine you have seen me, go now" I said as I unlocked my car
"I just want us to talk I promise after today I won't bother you ever again"
"Chard you and I have nothing to talk about okay?"
"We have a lot to talk about Nicole but this is not the right place to talk from"
"I have nothing to say to you" just leave, I said trying to get into my car but before I could even get in, Chard carried me on his shoulders and took me to his car, I was so embarrassed because people were watching so I didn't put up much of a fight, I sat in his car upset as he locked my car, when he was done he came and drove off like a maniac. We drove around for a while before I decided to stop him.
"Do you want to get us killed now huh?" I yelled
"Calm down Nicole"
"Calm down my foot, what gives you the right to come to my work place and cause chaos huh?" who do you think you are? Stop the car now or else I will jump off"
"Nicole please"
"Don't you dare Nicole me just stop the stupid car"
He stopped the car near a play ground and we both walked out of the car.
"Nicole why do you detest me so much?" he asked after a few minutes of silence
"I don't detest you but I don't fancy you either, you can't just appear from nowhere and decide to cause confusion in my life Chard, what do you want?"
"I haven't been able to think properly since I saw you I don't even understand myself anymore I just want to be close to you"
"Can you even hear yourself huh?"
"I like you Nicole, I want you"
"Chard I can't be associated with you okay, just stay away from me"
"Why?"
"First of all you are sleeping with my friend and secondly I have a man in my life and I deeply love him"
"Your friend?" he asked surprised
"Does the name Nora ring a bell?" I asked looking straight in his eyes he couldn't even answer me but just put his hands on his face.
"Nora your P.A" I said
"What Nora and I had was just sex and there is nothing between us now, I want you Nicole not her"
"Oh just sex? How wonderful and you want me to throw myself at you so that next time you find another one you say it was just sex? Sorry unlike Nora I know what I am worth"
"Nicole, let's not involve Nora in this"
"Firstly Nora is my best friend and I have hated you from the time you had sex with her and threw her out like a prostitute, seriously I can never find myself being attracted to a man of your caliber. Just take me back so I can get my car and go home"
"Nicole" He called out
"Miss Kabuswe"
"Oh God I have never done this all my life, I am begging you please"
"Chard no, I said no"
"If you don't want to take me back to where you found me, I will walk" I said turning, he followed me closely and held my hand.
"Let me go" I said
He turned me to him and we gazed at each other deeply, lost in each other's eyes, the next thing I know he was kissing me hard with a fervent urgent need I have never known before, he had his hands wrapped around my waist, his kiss was sending wild tremors to my body, awakening sensations I have never known I was capable of feeling.
