I've uploaded the previous chapter a few minutes ago so make sure you've read that one before!

Somehow, I've managed to avoid Sonia like the plague. Either she's in our room or I am. It helps that I try to stay out for as long as possible. I think she understands how upset I am because she seems to be avoiding me too. If we do see each other, I give her the cold shoulder. And at night, either she's asleep or I am when the other comes in. Headphones work well too. I don't ask Laine if I can spend the nights because I feel like I'm imposing.

I'm still pissed at her. I understand she did everything for my benefit but she's acting like she can control the world. If I don't want therapy, I don't want it.

Honestly, it's a little insulting she implied that I needed it. I mean, yeah, I need it, but she doesn't have to go around suggesting it. In fact, it's none of her business.

"So you're really not coming tonight?" Macy asks with doe eyes as she stares at me through her lashes. I shake my head, making her bold lips settle in a pout. "But, why not?"

"You know why, Mace," I sigh as I rub my temples. There's a party tonight, but it's a house party of a mutual friend. I don't really care to go, which is coming as a huge shock to Macy apparently. Honestly, if it was a frat party, I'd only go because of Laine. I'm simply not in the partying mood.

Macy childishly stomps her foot. "It's not fair! Just because she's going doesn't mean you can't!" She is referring to Sonia.

I laugh at her childish antics and pat her shoulder. "Relax babe. It's not only because of her. I want to catch up on some Netflix," I lie.

"Iced coffee for Ellie!"

I perk up and leave a frustrated Macy behind as I pick up my coffee. The addiction has come back full force and I hate that for me. When I get to the counter, I frown. My coffee isn't there.

"Looking for this?" a hot breath whispers from behind me.

I nearly jump in my skin before turning around to face a very smug Laine. Of course. Who else would have the courage to steal my coffee? He smirks as he takes a long sip. His face strains to not crinkle from the sweetness but he ultimately fails.

"You're such a dork," I laugh as I take the cup from him and kiss him on the cheek. "I hope you learned your lesson."

"Nope. I love stealing coffee from you. It gives me a thrill."

I playfully roll my eyes. He takes the opportunity to cup my face and plant a lingering kiss on my lips. I smile at him, wanting more but also not wanting to put on a whole show at Starbucks.

"What're you doing tonight?"

My eyes flicker back to Macy. I'm definitely not going to the party, but maybe hanging with Laine will be a good enough reason to get her off my case. "Nothing. Why?"

"I was thinking we could grab some ice cream?"

I dramatically gasp and lightly punch his chest. "Laine Kirk, Mr. President, wants to get ice cream with a mere peasant on a Friday night? What has happened to the world?"

He catches my fist and holds me by the wrist. "Hey! That 'mere peasant' just happens to be my girlfriend."

I laugh to cover up the butterflies in my stomach.

"Besides, I'm not really up for a party tonight."

"Abandoning frat life so early, are we?" I tease, even though I feel relieved at the confession. It seems we're on the same wavelength tonight.
